BG XP nerf?

XP in Battlegrounds need to be fixed because there is a lot of XP leeching in the 71-80 Brackets. Once it's fixed, it will be improved across the board.


Lvling my toons in the 71-80 bracket has given me renewed interest in the game ... don't know if I could handle going back to northrend quests having done it once already.

lots of talk in AV this week about a nerf hitting today .... Anyone have more info on this?

Not sure, I just hope it is not real bad! Me and my guildie was in AV with our 5th shamans we are leveling up. Mine hit 73 and his hit 75 in AV last night. OMG it was sooo fun! We were taking the south towers and killing Drek by ourselves with 5xEarth and 5xFire eles and major PEWPEW!!

As long as the exp nerf is not too extreme, Ill keep doing it. FUN!

hold up - u could take drek with 5 rock ele's? no tank? all u did was rush to the base, cap the 2 towers, and blow ur CD's on drek? did u heal the elementals? how many dps were there?

I've got 5 spriests @ 79 and will drop them now for my 5xshamans @ 72 if this is do-able without having to wait for a tank + everyone else! 'splain more! :)

He did it with 10 total (2 5 box groups) but yes - I've done this a lot back in the BC days. My shaman group is still leveling up - did a mixed group first this time around. But with that much focus fire drek would die pretty quick.

Exactly! 10 shamans+10 elementals=dead drek+0 tanks. We did it with one tower uncapped as well a few times.

Back to the original question at hand. Has anyone been able to confirm for us if Blizzard nerfed the BG Exp? Servers should be coming up about now unless they messed something up (totaly possible :rolleyes:). Stuck at work and wont know till this evening so kinda anxious to find out before then. someone please post on it. (im most concerned about the 71-80 bracket. I have been averaging 80k-100k exp per win... 18.5k per tower cap or boss kill.

I'm currently powerleveling my brother and dad with RAF up to 61, and adding in a couple new toons myself. 1-61 is like a 10 hour grind, no problem at all. From 61-71 we were going to do a combination of instance boosting and AV's when we wanted....

71-80 was going to be entirely AV. I hope it doesnt' get nerfed into the ground.

I think they just want to get rid of the leeching in AV. They could buff the xp in the other BGs and nerf AV a little to even it out.

haha leveling in AV in like 3-4 hours of playing per level if that.

Also if you do it just bring in your followers and WTF pwn half the horde/alliance raid cause they are mostly leveling toons anyways. The odd 80 is here and there but you can own them easy.

I hope they don't nerf it. My 10 box team is 68 atm and I was going to hit AV soon when I get to 71.

Its just my opinion but I'm fairly sure they're going to nerf the leeching side of it not the actual honour gain. XP is fairly...non high in BGs as it is and reducing it further I believe would as you said kill it.

update - BG's (at least AV) does not appear to be nerfed ... did a few games and seems like the same XP

I can confirm as well. So far no nerf to AV exp gains. Still averaging 100k exp per win. And the leveling does go unbeliveably fast- plus you will find your self honor capped before you know it :D

I finally got in some games and I'm horrified by the skill of the horde on my battlegroup in the 61-70 bracket. These were the results I had at lvl 67.

AV1 - Loss, 1 bunker destroyed, 45 mins, ~5k xp
AV2 - Loss, nothing capped/destroyed, 1 hour, ~0xp
AV3 - Loss, 1 bunker+balinda, 30mins, ~11k xp
AV4 - Loss, 1 bunker, 30mins, ~5xp

So I got a little over 20k xp in almost 3 hrs! Most of these games were about 25 horde to 40 alliance and 10 of the horde was me. It seemed like all the horde liked to do was fight out in the field. I'll give them a second chance but might just end up waiting for the 71-80 bracket.

The good news is I was doing pretty good with my lock/resto druid team. I had over 200 hks in the longest of the games and died maybe 5-6 times throughout all the games.

its totally worth it in the 71-80 bracket. Before that I'm not so sure about it.

Man Horde in Reckoning 61-70 just dominate. every game feels like a premade... all towers, all graveyards, mines, everything controlled by horde. 1-2 hours per level. I was pretty surprised
