I just started 2 boxing last week and enjoying it immensely. I have them both BM spec, but I have been considering respeccing one to MM. Does anyone have a similiar setup? Pros/Cons? Can the BM spec Bear pet keep the aggro off a MM hunter? Thanx in Advance :)

I've done two groups of hunters to 60 and my mother just got done leveling a hunter duo to 60 as well. BM all the way. With just two, you could probably get away with MM or SV for some better DPS on both but my opinion on it is:
when you really really need DPS, you won't be able to blow enough cooldowns to live long enough to do what you were trying to do (over-aggroing the pet, etc.)
when you can't DPS enough to do it, two BM pets with mend pet glyphs can just outlast it. :D

I went from from solo leveling my hunter to to 70 as MM to having to go BM once I hit Northrend, I kept drawing aggro within the first few shots alone till I swapped. Now I multibox 3 hunters with a priest leading for heals when they need it. Two of my hunters are BM and one is MM for the Trueshot Aura, but I keep Aspect of the Viper up on them at all times. 1, for the infinite pool of mana, and 2, it cuts their damage in half so they don't draw aggro off my pets. I also do that for my main hunter when I solo him. If I swap to anything else, then my bears, wheiter on my solo hunter, or my 3 hunters, can't hold the aggro. The dps is awesome, but keep in mind your survival is more important. :D As long as you do atleast 1% damage on a target before your pets kill them, you still get the loot and xp (if not grey).

If you pull aggro off of a BM pet once the pet gets ahead of you in aggro, you're either geared out the ass or you're doing something wrong, like leaving Growl and Cower on auto at the same time. At least, that's been my experience. The exception is elites that mitigate too much of the pet's damage or resist too many growls.

in the beginning, i discovered that my pet's cower would keep resetting back to on, i then made a macro that would turn it off at the beginning before i started fighting. and to solve the problem on my main hunter, i just simply let my pet round up a nice size mob, toss on AoV and just lay down Volley while popping Mend Pet between Volleys. But yea, my main hunter is also geared out his ass for normal questing. he's wearing the season 1 gladiator set. atleast most of it. it helps my bear out alot with damage resistance and health up so high.
Brummly on Earthen Ring Alliance side if you wanna check'em out on the armory.

Thats just bad management - only takes a second to switch aspects when your low on mana and simply either:
a) Feign death when you pull too much aggro
b) Stop shooting when you pull too much aggro
Simples.
I run 4xHunter+Druid. I had them BM specced until 80, using gorillas as pets. Now this group is dedicated to PVP, so I reverted to cat pets (for Prawn) and specced them all to MM.
On the little PVE I do, my pets (gorillas or cats) never manage to keep aggro even from autoshot. I also have to run with Aspect of the Viper constantly.

true, i could do that and from time to time when i change up my style, or need to, i do. i also like the way i'm playin now with my bear rounding them up for me and me mowin them down like this. cuts down on downtime for me when i barely have time to play. never said i was great at playin'em. when i farmed for my pvp sets, i didn't care much about runnin and gunnin. i also never run instances cause of my work schedule, so i'm not worried about it much.

To fix the cower resetting to active bug move the cower ability permanantly to the pet bar and turn it off.
It will no longer turn back on.
For those losing agro to their pet - Have you assigned your pets talent points? Obvious question I know but when I came back to the game recently I didnt realise they had reeset my pets talents.
Also another thing to do is have one hunter Mark on the pull and another misdirect to your tanking pet.
I am pulling about 2.8-3k dps on my BM hunter and have to work hard to rip agro of my cat if I let him hit it first. If you dont let your pet have the first hit he will struglle to catch and pass you.
Toon is Terche - Runetotem. Builds a bit odd atm but experimenting for new team. Pally, Druid, 3 x hunter.

here's the line i put in my macro. you can put it into anything you want when you use your pet to tank
/petautocastoff Cower
can set to either on or off, and change the name of the spell for growl, thunderstomp, claw, anything you want to keep turned off or on.
and yea, i send my pets in first to attack mobs before i start shooting with my hunters. talent points also stay the same till i switch specs from BM to MM cause of the loss of the 4 extra points.

ok all ty. I decided to stay BM with both. One is bear tank other is cat dps (talents in both player/pet trees emphasising said areas).
Although I may decide to go back to my home server lol. The prices where I created my Horde chars are just insane. Most times 3-4x more than on my home server.
