View Full Version : Excited about Cataclysm

I thought I'd start this thread since the vast majority of posts in the disappointed thread are actually approving of the expansion notes.

I am very excited. I'm glad there's not a massive new continent and instead I'm going to be able to see content that I'm very familiar with take on a whole new story. I'm happy about the stat changes, and even more glad they're allowing players to change stats within gear; I think that will open up a whole new part of theorycrafting that was lost with the removal of SP, MP5, etc.

Much, much more to be excited about. :D

Only thing I wish they did was increase the cap to 90 instead of 85.

I'm glad they kept it at 85 and created "end game" leveling with the Path of Titans. I hated going through 10 levels knowing that all the gear I get is meaningless since everything starts at end game. For those who truly enjoy the questing, rolling an alt should more than fill their needs.

I hope they implement the mentoring sooner rather than later. Its been a long time coming. I don't understand why WoW punishes grouping so much.

Im also interested in more of this pug leader bonus thing.

I'm actually looking forward to re-rolling a group after this expansion to experience the changes. If they do enough in quest changes it shouldn't matter that it will be without RAF.

Personally, I am glad they didn't bump it up to 90. I think they should have moved in 5 level increments to begin with to reduce the grind for alts and to allow more room in the way of expansions.

Yes, I have Worgen names set aside and for once I'm looking forward to really getting into the Alliance side of the game.

To sum up, I think I'm more excited by this expansion then the two prior because they change the old world in so many great ways bringing us back to it.

I think the changes they've made to make guilds more attractive are great. It will definitely feel more like a community instead of a group of people you chat and share vent with.

LOL would be funny if they tried capping percentages on a server somehow so that no more could be made until there were more level 30s(or whatever level they choose) on the server that were not worgen.

/2 WTS Worgen character slot, 2kg pst me!

I'm thrilled about this expansion. Ignoring all the content changes, some of the things that interest me particularly from a multiboxing standpoint:

1. Level 85 (not 90)
2. Rated battlegrounds instead of arena
3. No talent tree extensions (please, no more 61 point one trick pony gimmick talents)

I think those 3 things alone are enough to get any pvp multiboxer excited.

this is going to be exciting. i will never go through the old boring quests again, or have to deal with the silliness that is the barrens. questing in the barrens was more like running marathons. im so glad this zone will finally be "fixed". and im glad they're changing the zones levels around for a steadier, smoother transition when leveling. this kinda makes we want to roll another alt or two just for leveling single-boxed, just to get the quests, just to learn the story... this is looking to be a really nice expansion. im all for change. its about time.

Im excited too. Not sure if i wanna reroll 5x worgen druids, or if i wanna pay for race change...

Glad for talent tree changes too. They have enough problems keeping it balanced as it is. adding new tiers further complicates this. Now we will have to wait and see how they change them, i.e. preventing the possibility of a druid getting as far as moonkin and tree of life form, or other things that are currently impossible at the moment. Should make all classes more interesting to build out talents for.

I will be sad that stuff will be forever changed, but it is annoying that after years of leveling up, i go back to Elwynn and that bastard Hogger is STILL there.!!!!! I killed that guy dozens of times!!

I'm intrigued, though I wouldn't go as far as to say excited. I may just roll a set of undead hunters but I think I'm about done with rerolls.

Really looking forward to Cata(lepsy) as they seem to be adding more depth and detail with every expansion. The graphics upgrades look awesome especially more realistic water (....'cos everyone knows that graphics >>>> content /sarcasm).

Bring on rated BGs and honor ranks again. Now I just have to try and get beyond rank11 (at lvl49 :D ) again.

[useless trivia]The formula that used to work for me was aim for a cap of 100 kills (usually worked out at ~3hrs) per day for 5 days but only ever playing to win, i.e., I'd almost always run away from a guaranteed kill if it meant we could win the BG faster by assisting the FC/defence/recaps. That way I usually had a rank promotion each week. Wonder if it will be easier or harder this time.[/useless trivia]

If all the people that rolled horde to play blood elves go back to alliance for Worgen on my server, there'll be like 50 horde left.

I'm just looking forward to finding out more. It will be interesting to see if things are really cataclysmic or just minorly disorganized.

My favorite is the added class combos. I want ally shamen but goat men sux, ladies are ok, but don't feel like sha"MEN". ORCs FTW.
Yea Droof Shaman, Worgen druids, and gnome priests

If actual race changes go through I would make my Shaman dwarves - pity I cant have Worgen Female Shaman :D

It's gotta be:
- teddy bear form
- kitten form
- baby seal form
- canary form (tweety/woodstock)
- sunflower form
- babymoonkin form (unless someone can think of something)

I am completely in favor of this Expansion idea. Two thumbs up!!

I have always wanted them to do something similar to this, so its great for me. People don't realize how MUCH CONTENT they can make with an expansion like this.
