View Full Version : [Innerspace] Tilde brings up some strange window

Backtick/tilde brings up weird window (key to the left of one) on the main's client. I've use this key for years for various things -- currently using it for purge on my shaman. The alts purge fine, but the main pulls up that window that eats up all my keys (like I'm typing in chat).

Can't find anything in ISBoxer to disable this, and wouldn't know where to look. What can I do?

Additionally, the right bracket ] doesn't seem to be bound, no matter what I do. I have left bracket bound just fine, but right doesn't doa nything. Ideas?

first thought is check key bindings but I am sure you looked there 2-3 times also. Do not know IS so if it is in the program, wait for Lax or Zathor.

That's the IS Console, it's bound to ` by default. From the documentation, you can delete that key by opening the console {hit ` once to open} and enter "bind -delete console" without the quotes. You can bring up the console manually at any time by right-click > console on the Innserspace icon in your taskbar.

The individual session consoles are different than the IS icon console. Each session has its own commands that are run when it launches. It is helpfull to scroll back through the console for troubleshooting issues.

Maybe Lax will add in a new keybind selection for us to use in a future build of IsBoxer.

Not sure what box its brings up but built into WoW is a console that is bound to tilde by default if you use the

"wow.exe -console"

In your shortcut....

That is the Innerspace feature that we are talking about. That is not built into Wow.

The console command is in vanilla wow... i used it before i had innerspace :)

Like i said i dont know which box he is seeing but there is one bound to tilde by default if you use the -console on your shortcut to wow.

Actualy I got a problem with this too, even though I've removed console with 'bind -delete console' it keeps reappearing when i reload wow... First I thought it was just because I kept messing with the key binds, but now it seems it keeps doing it no matter what. Anyway to fix this?

A screenshot would help show the issues you have.

Of what? Bringing out the console? Me removing the bind? My bind list?

Lax

You would have had to remove it from Uplink instead of Session startup for it to come back, or you didn't click Apply after removing it.

Where in InnerSpace do I delete this bind permanently? Seems it not only have to remove every time I load, but I have to do it from every single window. I don't quite get what you mean about Uplink and Session and cliking apply, I don't see anything about apply in the Uplink console.

Also, what's up with the ] key? Is that bound as well? Numerous attempts and I'm unable to get innerspace to pass this key to any windows (not even the main). I use it for buffs.

Oh, I guess I didn't read the post where eggy suggested removing it with "bind -delete console". This is the first I've heard of someone doing that. I assumed you found someone that told you to remove it from the Inner Space session startup sequence.

1. Right click IS and select Configuration
2. In the upper right corner of the IS configuration window, underneath "Session" click the button that says "Startup"
3. In the list to the left, click "Console", then click Remove, and Apply.
4. If you also want to permanently remove the FPS indicator in the upper left corner, do the same to "FPS Indicator" in the list

These changes will not apply to any already-running windows

Nope, I use it all the time

I have been wondering how to do this to make the change permanent for ages, just felt too dumb to ask :D

I can't get that ] key to work to save my life. I've re-made the key-binding 100 times, it simply will not pass the key to any client, not the main, not the alts, not even with a different hot key. What do I do?

Get me a copy of the Mapped Key being broken and I'll check it out. There could be cases where the ] key would cause a problem, so if I get a copy of it I should be able to reproduce the problem and fix it. All you need to do is right click on the Mapped Key you created and select "Copy Mapped Key to Clipboard" from the menu, then paste it here for me

Your first paste was correct. The inner XML is "escaped" and should indeed have the < and >, etc. I will check it out, thanks

Tested your mapped key, and it works correctly. Is there anything else I should know?

Perhaps your issue is that you used the Quick Setup Wizard, which uses ] for "FTL Target Me" in the General key map -- in other words the ] key will be assigned in WoW to a macro that does /targetexact <character> -- and you didn't realize it?

heyaz
09-20-2009, 02:09 AM
Thanks, that did it :)

Yes, used the wizard. Had to re-assign ftl target me to something random, but now it seems to work.

Now to just get my movement key map to work - up and break follow, down and break follow, middle mouse (hold both mouse buttons) and break follow on self, etc. Gonna keep playing with them but so far they do absolutely nothing (up/down keys not sent, follow not broken).

Up and break follow key looks like this. The down and mouse ones are pretty much the same but also do nothing:

Is there another place where up/down is blocked? doesn't pass or break follow..

Lax
09-20-2009, 12:01 PM
No, up and down are not blocked. However, this Mapped Key is not just pressing up, it's pressing: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F11+Up -- all at once. You would have to use a Do Mapped Key Action in order to split off the ctrl/shift/alt to not affect the Up.
