Anyone else have any problems with patches 3.2 and 3.2a?? Both times it worked on my main box (Vista32) and failed on one of my slave boxes (Vista64). 3.2 was fine on my slave XP box, but 3.2a was really finicky and I had to install it in safe mode. Safe mode did not work on my Vista64 box.

I am surprised nobody else has had issues. I had to copy my wow folder to my slave box from my main box to get it to work for both 3.2 and 3.2a. Both 3.2 and 3.2a totally f'd up my install beyond repair.

No clue what it is, my slave box is basically for wow only. I do have firewall and antivirus, but the patch downloaded fine and the AV wasn't even loaded up in safe mode. Maybe it's something with admin privilages, I dunno. Pretty annoying I tell ya. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have multiple computers.

Stupid 3.2a fubar'd my install but mine was because i have mine symlinked and didnt realize there was a patch. One of my guys DC'd and I just logged him back in without really paying attention and it started installing and messing up my links. So had to reinstall again grr. I didn't have to go safe mode or anything though. Sounds like your having UAC issues. Do you have it turned off?

I'm now running from a single folder.
One of my toons crashed.
To log her in, had to patch that window.
Got the message, the file is in use, please close the program.
So actually had to close the other four accounts down to patch.
Have not had a patching issue, since I quit the symlink route and went with one folder.

I have UAC on, on both my Vista boxes. It could be that. I never had an issue in the past with UAC or symlinked folders. I will turn UAC off next patch, I figured running Vista in safe mode would disable this. Never checked though.

Cheers.

My first install updated fine, but I had a problem with the second folder. This led to a minor mess exacerbated by a disk error that pretty much blew up that second folder. I figured it was a good time to clean up the various WoW folders that I use, and everything's up and running. I guess I wasn't upset because I hadn't planned on playing last night, just on getting them updated. If I'd had plans for last night I'd probably have been tearing my hair out.

I've had no issues with 3.2a (Vista 64) but I was lucky enough to be logging on my solo bank toon when the update started so I didn't have any multiple downloads going.

oh anytime I hear there is a patch I only log in with one account and then copypasta the wow.exe to all my symlinked folders. Save some heartache and pain =)

I ran the patch as administrator from my main folder (sym linked to 3 others) and didn't have any issues (vista 64, UAC on)
