Need help getting geared up 10 man

So I just dinged 80 and I was able to clear normal mode instances (most of them). My gear is pretty bad I think and I'm having a hard time getting good gear. What I normally do is gring groups in seperate 5 man instances. I started doing heroics and the bosses and even the trash are owning my tanks like they were squishies! My tanks have unbuffed 20-21K hp and 450 defence which is low. I can't find any gear that will help me out in heroics other then the gear u get from them. Any advice as to where I can get good gear to help me get up to par with the standard raid/ heroic equivalents? I have crafters of all proffessions but obviously lack the good recipes and ingredients. Thanks Fikk :)

There is a player made set of gear (Savage something) that will cap out your tank EZ... if its a warrior or dk... not sure about a pally set.

its the ghetto set my DK used when i still liked him :P

Thanks for the reply. I made myself this set, and it has helped a great deal. Before I had no resillience rating which was killing me. With that and some defense I think now I'm closed to uncrtittable. Sitting at 5.8% combined.

the savage stuff is for pvp you want tempered saronite and get the daunting handgaurds.

also get the honored sons of hodir shoulder enchant and chant the cloaks with titanweave. grind out the mats or cash to get two tempered titansteel helms and get your wyrmrest and argent crusade factions up. they sell some really good tanking stuff. so do some of the other but id start with those.

also put enduring forest emeralds in the stonegaurd bands.

I did dailies and bought a few epic items to help me out with heroics when I started. Probably better for you since you have your professions leveled, which I did not.

You can buy an epic or two per day if you do the 25 dailies (~300 G X 5). Not to mention the rep you get so you can buy the rep gear, which is also good. The champions tokens from the dailes (or are they emblems?) can get you some nice stuff too.

Dailies and some heroics, and you are done. The badges gear is usually ok. also rep gear is nice.
