I think I get what you mean, I had the same problem recently. Look at the forum post "PiP in octopus?" for some additional advice.
Are your maximizer settings set up correctly?

Make a different maximizer setting for each instance of the game you are going to be running.(not sure how to do this on multiple comps but I think it is a similar procedure.) Go to server, maximize and click new and make a setting for each instance of the game. Name them something simple like, Wow left and Wow right. Go to your desktop and right click anywhere there is free space, then select personalize. In the menu that pops up click display settings, and check what your resolution is set to, mine is 1280x800. For my display setting to divide my screen in two my settings look like this

Wow left (0,0,640x800)
Wow right(640,0,640x800)

If you haven't done so already Go to Client, games and again create a new one for each copy of the game you plan to run.
Mine are world of warcraft right and world of warcraft left. Click the [....] button below path and find the .exe file of the game for every single game you entered. Go into your profile on the server tab and if you havent already make again, one for every game you plan to run. Mine are wow1 and wow2. Under the game tab of wow 1 select "localhost:world of warcraft 1". Then under the maximizer select wow left. Repeat this process for the other ones but selecting the other options you created. On all of them check "recieves broadcast keys" and "recieves broadcast clicks". Now close out the profile and Click [start]. You should see in the box below something like localhost(123.4.5.6) connected. If not click it again and you should see it. Now click [instances] and click "run all" When they load up it should now be setup correctly. Click octopus in the bar once it is running and click Broadcast keys and you should be able to run around and finish setting things up (macros, etc)
