I just ordered a bunch of new parts specifically for boxing 4-5 accounts (Haven't decided the final number yet)

Core i7 920 (hopefully OC'ed to 3.0ghz)
MSI - X58 PRO-E Motherboard
6 gigs of ram (will upgrade to 12 in the next couple of months)
Geforce 9800GX2 card
2x 24" Dell Monitors
Windows 7 RC1

(in the distant future i will be picking up the Intel X-25 G2 SSD's, but for now this WILL break my bank completely)

I plan on having the main account on 1 of the screens while the other 3-4 accounts would be maximizer'd to the other monitor.

Do you think i would be able to at least set my settings to medium on the main client and have the others on very low-low while having a comfortable time in most of the zones of Northrend?

I doubt i'll be spending that much time in Dalaran. When i play a solo toon, other than logging out and handing in badges, picking up daily quests and quickly banking, i hardly am actually in town, but rather in an instance or out in the world somewhere doing some daily quests.

I will be using KeyClone and am hoping to have an enjoyable experience.

I guess in the future i can take out the 9800GX2 and replace that with 2 Radeon 4890's with an LCD hooked up to each card. But for now, this is all i can afford.

Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

Should be very playable and an enjoyable experience. If you do not already have the 2 monitors it might be worth just using 1 and upping the RAM and then adding a 2nd monitor later on. All in all though you shouldn't have any problems (Dalaran/Wintergrasp might give you some hiccups)

I'd be a little concerned about the graphics card for the size of monitors. We have a similar card and it only works with 5 if we limit resolution / fps fairly severely. Whether thats an issue depends on your play style (I don't watch my alts much anyway), but on an identical machine with a GTX260, we can crank the settings quite a bit higher.

I'm running a 8800GT with a 28" (1920x1080) and a 22" (1680x1050) monitor and 5 copies of wow with no problems.

No I don't have all the bells and whistles turned up, but it's more than adequate.

Hey, thanks for the quick replies.
I appreciate all the feedback, the thing i was most unsure of myself was the video card that i currently run. The 9800GX2 that i was using before was fine for most of the stuff i was doing before, but i guess that the best option would be to grab a couple of 4890's when cash allows and hook each of them up to the monitors. I'd probably have to upgrade my PSU as well, as of right now all i am running is a PCPC 750 W psu. I'll probably have to throw in a 1000W Corsair PSU or something.

It's going to be a while before i get to see all this in action though, the X-25M G2's from intel aren't in stock yet where i live, and it'll be a while before i can get my hands on one.

Looks good. In terms of graphics performance - it really is personal preference.

I have plenty of friends who raid (solo) in my guild and are perfectly happy at 1024x768 with all setting turned all the way down. Personally I'm at 1900x1200 with all settings maxed and I get bummed when I drop below 35 FPS.

A 9800x2 is a good card (better than I've got). How many bells and whistles you want is really up to you.

I use a i7 920 oc to 3.0 (150 base clock) , 12 gb of ram and a 1gb 4870 Ati (2 monitors). I use the 1680x1050 resolution on all 5 with the normal main set to high performance (minus shadows). I have very good results in northrend with 40-60 fps in questing areas on the main with slaves capped at 20. I haven't tested Dalaran on this machine since I came back from from my Wow vacation.

You will not have any problems once you get to 8gb of ram or higher.

Note: The 3.0 OC is great because the underclock feature still functions for power and processor savings. Go above 3.2 ish and it is prevented from functioning iirc.
