Add me to the list of "All Northrend Heroics Cleared!" (finally!)

Pre 3.2 I'd never managed to do Halls of Stone, Old Kingdom, or Occulus. Old Kingdom was the second heroic daily, and I managed to somehow 1-shot every boss in there. Halls of Stone came 3 days later, and again managed to 1-shot every boss (although I wiped on the Brann event, he lived and killed them all :D). Today was the one I was dreading the most: Heroic Occulus.

The first bosses were all easy, and I 1-shot them all nearly flawlessly (1 death on the ice bomb guy.) I watched a few videos of 5 Amber Drake kills, and set up the "2-3-2-3-2-3 nuke rotation". It took me 6 or 7 wipes to get it down, but I managed to finally bring him down all 5 drakes left alive!

Grats! I still can't down eregos with 5 amber. I'm on my like 30th try and massive repair bill. Stupid glory of the hero achievement :mad:

The thing that made the difference for me was to not switch the nukes as soon as the GCD is up. I'd count to 3 then switch, and the damage increase was noticable. I got to the kite phase before the third time stop wore off.

wow gz, i have not even tried hos of occulus multiboxing they seam like a nightmare! But when my guys have some better gear i will give it a go!

BigWigs (screen flashes are very helpful for boxing fights like Grobbulus, Thaddius, etc)

Big congrats indeed ! I'm scared of occulus and hate those vehicle fights - I only have 2 Heroics down so far and I was thinking of switching to alt teams but maybe I should stick it out

Tip: Your gear doesn't matter when it comes to drakes' damage. Fly naked to avoid the repair bill!

having just finally nailed the 5 amber strat i'd offer a couple thoughts:

I went with a 4 / 1 split and didnt have the patience to setup a barmod for it - so what i did was unbound 1/3 on my main window and bound f3 to slot 1, f1 to slot 3 and put timestop on round robin.

rotation looks like:

(open with timestop)
2 -> f1 -> 1 -> 3 -> f2 -> f1 -> 1 -> 3 -> f2 -> f1 -> 1 -> 3 -> f2 -> (2) repeat until timestop.

It accomplishes the same thing as macroing or remapping the hotbars with a bar mod (just snagged a buddy is ruby/emerald void tonight).
