I've been reading through the various stickies and have learned quite a lot about the mechanisms behind all of this. Obviously it requires multiple accounts, but is it necessary for all the characters to be the exact same class? For instance, would it be possible to have 2 shaman and three mages?

I realize that their spells would not match up, but I was considering if two types of bars could be set up and accessed at the same time: one set up for the shaman and the other for mage related abilities. Also, could there be any overlap? Say the mages cast frost bolt while the shaman casts lightning bolt under the same keystroke?

You'll have to forgive me as this is my first visit to the site and I have not fully explored the realm of possibilities, but any insight will be valuable to me.

Anything is possible. The only limitation is how gifted you are at remembering where each of your hotkeyed macros lay and whether or not you have fumbly fingers.

welcome to the forums, kedavra.

the quick answer is yes... you can multi-box any number of classes... technically. the trick, as you mentioned, is figuring out the key sequences with a limited keyboard.

if you are just starting out, i would recommend rolling a set of warlocks and running them to 30+. casters are easier to multi-box then melee... omni-directional casters are easiest of all. it's still complex to track, but at least you removed some of the issues you'd face with 3 different classes on your first go-round.

Excellent, thank you very much for the feedback. I look forward to trying some of this out.

I run 5 different classes and love it, but I mostly PvE. If you find yourself PvE'n, then I say it is worth a shot. There is an increased level of difficulty in doing so, but it is certainly manageable.
