View Full Version : [Keyclone] Ingame Res not matching maximizer res

Hey all, can not work this issue out for the life of me.

If I set a fullscreen region in maximizer and tell it to have an ingame res of 1:1 or 1680x1050 when I load up the clone using that region the ingame res according to WoW is 762x576 and when I exit out and check maximizer it has gone back to 800x600.

This is getting slightly annoying as it really screws up UI and the amount of real-estate I have to work with.

Has anyone else come across this, or got anything for me to try Rob?

If you're running Vista, make sure that you're running KeyClone as Administrator. (Either right-click and choose run as administrator each time you start the program, or right-click, choose properties, click Advanced and select the checkbox to always run the program as administrator.) I ran into some similar problems and the whole "run as adminstrator" thing was at the root of all of them.

If you've already checked that, or you're not even running Vista, then that sounds like we need Rob to jump in and help.

Good luck!

Running Windows 7 RTM that I just did an upgrade to.....run as was not used even though my login is administrator, I'll give it a test when I wake up and see what happens

ignore the resolution reported in-game. unless you have one of the commonly used screen resolutions, it will default to 800x600. (using the 1-to-1 while full screen will most likely hit one of the standard resolutions)

if the resolution was incorrect, your aspect ratio would be incorrect. this would mean the minimap would be an egg or football, instead of a circle.

also, make sure wow-menu/video/resolution/use-UI-scale is CHECKED.

Rob, here are 2 pics taken side-by-side on my two 22" monitors. One is taken running the client through keyclone with maximiser set to 1680x1050 and the other is taken from running the wow.exe. As you can see, both have ui scaling turned on and to the lowest sizing yet the one running from wow.exe has more real estate on either edge of the action bars and the map seems smaller too so I'm not sure what the issue is.

[EDIT]
Hmmm, just noticed with them like this that even the UI options panel is smaller in the WoW.exe client

it actually looks like the aspect ratio is off a bit. note the minimap looks a bit squashed

try setting the in-game res to 1680x1050 directly (you can type anything you want.. just keep the format the same).
