View Full Version : SATA Switch?

I'm looking for an AB switch for SATA drives. I'd like to setup my machine with Vista to have an XP drive but I don't want to toy with dual boot (Dual booting with vista is horrible from what I've seen).

One solution I've considered is using the bios to modify boot order but that is kludgey at best and a pain in the ass. Another would be physical disconnection but again, what a pain.

Anyone know of a SATA switch device? I'd like to avoid using removable drive trays but it's looking like it may be the best option right now.

Thanks,

Actually solved this without any extra hardware...

Opened my box and removed power from 3 of the 4 drives, leaving only the naked drive enabled. Installed Windows XP to it.

Hooked everything back up, and my bios has a boot menu that you can choose which hard drive to boot from. So if I choose the drive with XP I get XP and if not, I get Vista, no boot manager bullshit and no having XP installed on the E drive which is what was happening when I tried to dual boot.
