This is the latest annoyance I was able to observe during my long grind for my pet in scholazar bassin:

I started farming wg with my group in tow......found out that there is a bunch of nodes to be mined. Also found out that 1/4 of the nodes that i find, haxors get there first. Pissed me off for the first couple of times...after that I left the farming grind behind.
I don't think it's actual hacking. I bet, it's more about phasing. I did encounter this in Icecrown, where are several layers of phases. I wanted to get some saronite and it often disappeared even though nobody seemed to be around. After doing some quests I found myself being in a different phase, but in the same area. The nodes remained where they were, and some hordeplayer was flying around gathering them.
--> The nodes are available from any phase and are not being separated out.

Toll, to my knowledge the Basin does not have phasing.
Several times alreadly I have landed at a node, started mining, got the 'already in use' message. Then the node disappears and there is nobody around. Checking the combat log shows who mined the node. Doing /who shows a level 60 or even lower non-stealth character who can not fly.
When you then fly 30 seconds at 280%+ speed to the next node and the same lowbie mines it while being invisible, you know that there is no way in hell he could have gotten there before you at 150% speed and being ground based.
The simple explanation for this is a teleport hack that places the hacker's char inside the node or inside the ground and just runs down a list of spawn points.

Probably the exact same hack they use to make the corpse spam in cities. You'd think they'd have fixed this by now, as it's not the first time this has surfaced to my knowledge.

yes, it's not phasing; it's lowbies underground teleporting and indeed so many years later you'd expect blizz would have fixed it... also I reported those hackers and they are still at it... same for the skinning robots... makes you wonder if blizz really mind...
ive been playing for over 2 years now and ive never seen a hacker or bot of any kind. i feel like im missing out on something.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine got hacked.
His lvl 80 with mining at 450 was used to do the same thing you see here.
We even tracked him down.
Completely naked.
When there was a mine, he would appear for a brief while, mine would be mined, and he appeared for another really short while on his mount getting airborne. (got his account back the next day)
It's really annoying these hackers, the gamemasters i've spoken to told me the story they are aware of it and going to fix it....

No, this isnt a phasing issue. If you do a search on the wow forums there is plenty of people griping about these bots. There is even a vid on youtube showing how to get "under" wg. I guess once they get this lowbie under the ground....the automated process begins.
The toon taking my nodes in wg was a lvl 70 warrior...lol..........no way a lvl 70 would survive 2 min out there running around.

Seems so easy to track, graphic high value nodes per hour harvested and xp gained. Likely another behavior like ore traded and/or mailed.

This sounds oddly similar to the Pre-TBC telepoting miners out in the Silithus caves. I think they fixed that, so this is more than likely a new exploit.

it's called "telehack".

Yea, this used to happen all the time back in WoW Classic, people would use teleport hacks to farm out all the rich thorium veins in the sillithus hives, Azshara, and Blackrock Mountain. They fixed it sometime around when Naxx came out, and I didn't hear anything about it happening during Burning Crusade.
