So I was curious if anyone is using one of these and how you find it?
I love my G15 but I'd prefer to use those buttons for applications and having this pad dedicated to just gaming will work great.
Bit worried about the joystick if it will work for movement and fully expecting to feel like a fish out of water for awhile but I can always fall back on setting up WASD keys.
So anybody had any experience with this?

To get a G13 you'll probably need to order online, unless you can get to a Frys or something. Most places dont and/or wont carry it because it's a specialty item.
I'm pretty sure you can set up the joystick to hit wasd through the logitech software.
I've talked to a few people that use a G13 but other than hearing that it works, and works with ISBoxer aside from the joystick (they set up the joystick in the logitech software and everything else in ISBoxer), there's not much to report :)

I use the G15 and G13 they work great together, i use the joystick as movement keys for my slaves, mostly for just keyboard turning, it can be a little difficult to get them to actually move in one certain direction in a straight line.
But the extra keys are always welcome, and it's kinda the same deal as the G15, it has the 3 sets of keys so you can switch on the fly. All in all i'de say it's definately worth trying out.

May i just notice if you're going to play wow? You'll need alot more buttoms then that.
Also,
You've already wasted W,'A;S,D, Target/Assist for multibox, Follow, CTRL, Shift, Space.
So yeah.. that's like alot, And you also need pretty long fingers since there's like 6 over the w and the side up there, and w beside W on the right, and left etc.. wich will be very hard
I'd really recommend buying a X-Key instead in my opinion, just a idea ofcourse.
I have been using the G13 since it has been released and I absolutely love it. It is way better than the Nostromo N52 I have been using previously.
The stick is just fine for mouvement. I saves a whole lot of keys and feels absolutely natural after a while. It is also clickable, I use this click for mounting. The top left key can be a little hard to reach if you have small hands, but all in all, the design is pretty perfect.
The LCD screen is completely useless to me, I basically don't use it. But ok, it doesn't hurt to have it, except perhaps for price ...
Unlike was the case on the N52, the shift states cannot be done with whatever key, only the dedicated 3 small top key can be used to shift "colour". I anyway don't use that : I have "shift" and "control" on my mouse thumb buttons (Logitech G9), and I use these modifiers to change bars in game. That way, the 22 programmable keys on the G13 become instantly 66. Well, it's in fact 22, plus 2 "space bar thingies" next to the stick, plus the clickable stick itself.
If mine would break, I would get a new one immediatly, and probably would not try to play until it is delivered.

I use G13 and old G15 and I definitly love it.
I tested N52, Ergodex DX1 and another gamepad.
The G13 need an adaptation time (it's the good word??) but it's very good.
Fef: G13 LCD to show Proc/RAM utilisation and G15 LCD for clock and Winamp Info :D

Ok, my first post here...
I'm wondering what did you guys bind to the G keys?
Like, pressing G1 is like pressing F1? or did you bind ALT+1, or something?
Im kinda having troubble finding enough unbound keys on my main to use on my "slave".
Using 1 PC, 1 keyboard, running 2 accounts, a G15 and a G13, Jamba, bartender and keyclone.
Pally main and Shammy slave.
1 through 0 is used by my main for normal spellcasting, so didn't bind these to G keys.
at the moment I unbound the F keys on my main for use on the G keys, (alt+f1, ctrl+f1 etc) but I miss being able to target party members using my F keys lol.
So, any tips? tricks? a screenshot of the Key profiler?
And yes, I do agree with the above people, Its kinda big for people with small hands, but around here, its the best affordable alternative. The LCD is useless to me aswell, I have it on both the G15 and G13, and all it does it tell me about new mail and the time and date. I don't use it for anything else.
(so, yea, buy a G13 or a G11, the other keyboards (orange G15, G19) have less G-keys, so I don't see their point)
My G-keys are all bound to alt+A, alt-B, alt+C, etc ... This way, I can still type on my regular keyboard for chat.
Then, I made a huge copisite bar with dominos that has the same layout as the G13 keys. This makes it a no-brainer to hit the right key.

G13 is binding: 0-9 and Ctrl-0 to Ctrl-9
G15 is binding: Alt-0 to Alt-9 (I don't use all Gkeys on G15)
So, I have a lot of keys free to use
And for the "small hands", my wife use the G13 and have not big problem to deal with this pad. And she have very small hands :D

FYI, you guys sold me. I use the N52 right now, but I JUST went out and bought the G13. It feels weird (probably because I'm so use to the N52), but I'm sure that will pass. I do like the fact that I have lot more keys available.
So any suggestions on how to bind keys for a 1x Paladin 4x Shaman team? I use /target forcustarget and the Interact With Target quite a bit, so I want to put them somewhere easily accessible. I'm thinking G7 and G14 because that's near the same area I had them on my N52.
Thoughts/Suggestions?
First, the commons :
On all my groups, first line (G1 to G7) is for tanking, line two (G8 to G14) is for DPS, third line (G15 to G19) is for healing, and the last line is for occasional stuff (like poison cleaning totem, or target a boss spawn, or things like that).
G1 is alway shot want or /attack, depending on the class.
This standardization allows me to easily move a character in another group when needed.
The way I do my pala + 4 x shaman :
G7 is freezbee pull on the pala, nothing on the shamans.
G6 is my tanking macro, nothing on the shamans. I use this to build up aggro when necessary.
G5 is "taunt" on the pala and LB on the shamans
G4-G2 are various less useful pala stuff
G14 is LB on the shamans, and tanking macro on the pala
G13 is FS+LB on the shamans, and tanking macro on the pala
G12 is Chain Lightning on the shamans, and .... yes, tanking macro on the pala
G11 is a castrandom of shocks on the shamans and tanking macro on the pala
etc ...
G19-G15 are dedicated heals (I have a healer shaman). Each of these keys are set to tanking macro for the pala, and LB for the DSP shamans.
This way, I have a lot of spare keys, never have to worry about tanking, and don't fear to lose DPS when healing.

Love the pad, had an N52... and it took some time to get used to, but I like the layout and function of the G13 now. I agree about hand size, my wife said the G13 is too big
As for layout... go with what works for you. Its all about what feels natural and what makes sense for each person.
For instance, due to my years of FPS play my bottom thumb button is bound to jump...

Any opinions on this, preferably from people who have used both and can tell a difference.

I loved my n52 but have upgraded to the G13 as part of my upgrade plan (going from G15 gaming to G19 and Lachesis to G9x next) and loved it right up until I rebuilt this pc with Windows 7.
The current driver from Logitech won't install under Win 7 x64 for some reason and while you can cheat and pull just the .msi out of the package and install that you lose a lot of functionality still.
Hopefully the drivers will be updated soon and as long as you aren't running Win 7 atm I can heartily recommend it.
As far as comparing it vs the fang the main difference is that you can't reprogram the keys on the fang last I checked.

Nah it's not that Fur, the 64-bit works great under Vista 64.
The error is about the wrong version of windows so it's likely they have made of of the errors Larry O has talked about in his blog about how to check for what version of windows is running. There is a really simple logic flaw that can be made that will lock you to Vista and not have the software install on greater versions even if that was your intention.

That's odd. I'm running Windows 7 64bit and the drivers for the G13 installed with no problem for me.

Fang is a joke for a game pad. Don't buy this. I have one at home.
This pad is not comfortable to use. Buttons is not at good place and too small. Pad don't grip (it's the good word?) on the desk...
Buy a G13!
Zef would you be willing to share your profile just to give me actual lay out on how it should look. on the g13 thanks.
