We're back up and running, welcome to Vbulletin. Please let me know if you come across ANYTHING odd or out of place.
There was some issues with PMs. if you're missing PMs and you really, really need them. I'm talking life altering stuff. Let me know.
Update:
A couple of notes from IRC:
The default setting is to NOT save PMs when you send them, you need to go to User CP -> options and check the box next to "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items (http://www.dual-boxing.com/private.php?folderid=-1) folder by default"
Automatic image resizing now works, any image wider than 700px will automatically be resized.
Signature dimensions limited to 475x125
Anyone having issues with old PMs not in your inbox, create a folder, and they should appear in that folder, this was just a bug on the import.
Yes you have to reset your password, this is what I've been saying since we announced we were moving to VBulletin :_)
Yes fonts are HUGE in a lot of places, this is due to the differences in size calculations between burning board and Vbulletin.
If you cannot reset your password for ANY reason (most common is your email server is rejecting mail from dual-boxing.com) please contact me on IRC. Just click on the chat up top, find Svpernova09 and send me your email and username, I'll get to you just as fast as I possibly can.
Youtube video BBCode just requires the Video ID, not the entire URL
If you experience ANYTHING that appears broken. PLEASE don't just say "this doesn't work" PLEASE tell me how to reproduce the error and tell me what browser you're using.
Images are default size now, they old forums auto scaled images, the new forums are do not auto scale.
Yes, the old gallery images are not imported. This is why I had *multiple* threads reminding people and telling people to BACKUP anything they wanted.
Attachments are missing. If you tell me the thread titles / posts they're missing from, I'll see about getting them back.
If you can't click on forums, see blank forums, buttons / links not working. MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT USING OLD BOOKMARKS. This is the most common cause for such errors.
If you're using Opera, update to the newest Beta.
There was a problem with email being sent from webmaster@vb.dual-boxing.com I didn't change this when I pushed the site live and this is what was causing people to not get the emails for password resets. Mail should now be coming from webmaster@dual-boxing.com I blame Gurb, cause frankly I don't have a good excuse.
If you are missing PMs in your inbox, create a new folder and they will magically appear in that folder. no word if they are magically delicious though.
Game thread prefixes for just about any section. Boxing software prefixes in the software & new section
I've set up some custom profile fields that are specific to multiboxing
http://www.dual-boxing.com/profile.php?do=editprofile
You can currently add the game / server / number of accounts / what you use to multicast / class makeup. If anyone has any ideas for fields, please let me know. You can view mine here: http://www.dual-boxing.com/member.php?u=9879

1) The WYSIWYG editors for me are all broken. See screenshot below.
http://wow.jafula.com/images/extforums/lackofimagesproblem.png
2) The logo/image at the top that points to new.dual-boxing.com is not showing up as well (I have not updated my hosts file)
3) This reply box is very small. Its bordering on unusable for me. The increase size button just gives me extra height and its the width I want!
This is on Firefox 3.0.12; javascript on.
Hope you can help!

The problem with the images is that they are served from vb.dual-boxing.com and thats, at least for me, not in dns yet (if you look for the same image path on www.dual-boxing.com it works).

I am not sure where to ask, so I will ask here. Is there a way to add/change something to our first page (portal). I would love to have a box for the option "Posts I posted in" It is in the "My posts" button, but it might be nice if I could have a box (show 10 up to 50). I don't need this for everyone, so I thought maybe there is a way for each person to customize their own page? I like to help people, but if they reply back, there is a chance I will miss it and that isn't very helpful on my part.
Thanks and will add, it looks good so far.

Two minor issues:
1. I can only successfully log in on the site home page and not on forums index page. If I enter my details in the username and password fields and click login on the forums index, and the fields simply clear without me being logged in, no error of any kind.
2. Some people's signatures are now in a ridiculously large font. It appears that tags are interpreted differently by vBulletin. On the old forums, the font sizes were probably in pixels or points and size 8 was very small. On vBulletin, [SIZE="8"]this is size 8 and this is size 2.
Hi,
just testing that i can log in and post as well.
2 things i saw so far:
- i had to go through "Forgot your password" link to retrieve a new one, couldn't log with the old one for some reason.
I have now change this new (generated) password to my old one and everything works ok.
- my old bookmark was
http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums.php/index.php?page=Index
when using this link i can see all the threads titles, but they are all empty of content.
after clicking on "Portal > Forums i could see the threads again and this time they had content.
Just updated my bookmarks and now everything's fine.
Looking good, nice work.
Again, many thanks for this website, it's a good one.

also, it seems the [ align=center] tag is not accepted, will check in sig editor

I'm also getting those login problems anywhere but the main page in the uppermost login section {the one below it doesn't like to work either}.
I also had a problem deleting PMs. I kept going from the Private Messages link/dropdown in the Welcome, Khatovar box, but I couldn't get to where the supposed PMs were. Tried to delete them from where that link takes me, got confirm dialogue but they were still there. Tried from the User control panel, still wouldn't work. I had to go in though my profile. This may just have been old PMs, though, since I can't duplicate it with new test messages I send myself.

Try now, I think you were over the character limit. The currect character limit is
1,000 Maximum Characters in Signature Including BBCode Markup
500 Maximum Characters in Signature Excluding BBCode Markup
I like the site, but its kinda difficult to tell when the next post starts. maybe something a little darker than a sky blue bar?

I also requested a little darker of a line between posts :) It's on the massive to do list haha.
Minor issue with the new forums: Emails are sent from vb.dual-boxing.com, which does not exist. Some mail servers (including mine) reject e-mails that come from invalid domains because the return path doesn't exist. Anyway, made it unnecessarily difficult for me to reset my password, and if you guys can add a dns entry for the vb subdomain or change the vbulletin config to not send from vb.dual-boxing.com, the problem will go away.

The DNS entries are there, it's a matter of an issue with our host / dns server. I'll see if I can fix it to use the actual domain.

Hey guys :)
The recent threads on the portal page doesn't have more than 1 page even though you can click through 4 pages. They all have the same posts on them.
I used to use the "view threads from the last 24hours" option at the top of the forum as my main method of reading the forums. Any chance of getting that back? I'm kinda lost without it :(

Kind of similar, I used to use the see all posts since last visit list everyday for a good list of things to look over. It would be nice if we could get that back somehow.
Very minor issue - the thread titles on the portal page of recent posts are abbreviated quite a bit. It's something like 20-25 characters. Some of the threads can be hard to tell what they are about from that page. All the other forum pages the title shows the full length.

I'm using standard Internet Explorer 8 with Windows Vista. In the version, it states 8.0.6001.18813.
I wasn't able to click on the links at the top of the page. I wasn't able to register, wasn't able to hit the FAQ, nothing would work. It would simply refresh the screen when the link was clicked. I tried it on five of my Windows Vista machines all with the same version of Internet Explorer 8 which is the latest right now from Microsoft.
The only way I was able to get here was to follow some of the public forums which I could barely get to. That's meaning that most of the links wouldn't work there either, would just refresh the current screen. Found a link where someone said to use the "Forgot password" option and that link worked.
I don't have this problem any where else but with the new site. I have default privacy settings, default popup blocker, etc in Internet Explorer.
Am I the only one that has had this problem?

I think there may be an issue with private messages and the 'Your Notifications' section to the top right of the screen. I sent a message earlier and now 'Your Notifications' says Unread private messages:1, but when I try and find what that message is I cant find it anywhere. Im guessing it is probably registering the message I sent as a unread message.
Inbox contains 0 messages.
You have 1 messages stored, of a total 500 allowed. (Empty Folder)
When I click empty folder it says 'Are you sure you want to permanently delete all items in 'Inbox'?'
Sorry if its just me being stupid but I cant find the message it is refering to and I dont want to empty the folder incase it is a reply to the message I sent earlier.
Thanks :)
EDIT: Fixed thanks to the following post by Moorea. I made a new folder named 'New' and the message appeared in that folder.

Don't delete - try making a new folder as a workaround, your inbox message will/may show up in that new folder once created (they did for me; but I didn't have a "new" one, only old)

I also requested a little darker of a line between posts :) It's on the massive to do list haha.
This can probably be fixed by moving the user information box to the side, the way it was in the old version of the forums. If I'm not mistaken, vB defaults to the layout with the user info on top of the post, and it's just a checkbox or something like that to switch it to the old format.
Forums are working fine for me in IE 8 under WinXP and IE 8 under Vista64. Firefox 3.5 is a different story. I can't stay logged in and the sub forums are blank. It's not really an issue for me, but you may want to put up a message on the site home page letting people know, in case they give up before trying IE.
Images seem to be huge now. They used to auto-scale on the old site to fit whatever width the forum posts were. Now, if anybody's used a giant pic, it displays at full-res.
Everything else seems to be okay, though, so it seems the transition was pretty smooth. Thanks!

Why is there a box for quick reply that doesn't allow you to just start typing and do an actual... quick reply?
You have to click the down arrow to activate the box (so it qoutes the post you're quick replying to)
This seems kinda retarded, so I fixed it. Now you should be able to just type away in the box.

Next request, and this one may not be possible:
At work I can't spell check because it won't let me download the addon that pops up when I click on the ABC checkmark. Personally I would rather it just check my spelling as I type as it did in the last forum (by highlighting the text with a red underline). Any way of doing this using the new forum?

I'm using Internet Explorer (which is likely the problem). On the upper right hand corner there is a check mark, with ABC floating above it, that is used to spell check the posts. The other forum somehow highlighted the text (just like it does for me at home using Firefox) but this one doesn't automatically check spelling and you have to have the IE addon (when you click the check mark it tries to spell check but fails if you don't have the addon installed).
Anyway, this is probably just my problem and can be ignored. Thanks for setting everything up :)

I'm having an issue seeing the forums on Google Chrome.
I can see the forum list (general discussion, macros and addons etc), but when I click on general discussion to see individual topics all that loads is the toolbar at the top (User CP, FAQ etc), then immediately below it the What's Going On area with current active users.
This happens on all forums, not just general discussion.
Happens to me both with chrome at home and at work.

Yes. the answer is in the OP.
Anyone having issues with old PMs not in your inbox, create a folder, and they should appear in that folder, this was just a bug on the import.

Sure. you provide me a list of everyone's old bookmarks and I'll get right on it. So the short answer is no. The long answer is, No because I have to have an idea of the URL their coming in from before I can begin to rewrite it.

Sorry, Svpernova, but as usual, you were correct. As soon as I created a new MAIL folder the messages were put in there and I could mark them as read. When I created a new folder earlier I mistakenly created a new subscriptions folder, which obviously didn't do anything to my mail message notifications.

One quirk:
When editing a post and hitting save, the screen just sits there. The post has been edited, but there's no confirmation to the user letting them know it has been saved. This is different then if you go into advanced editing and then hit save it go back to the thread so you can see your recently edited post.

When I edit something, it's default the quick editor, not the full blown advanced, this is intended. When you hit Save, it should refresh the page and show you the same page of the thread you were look at before you hit the edit button. If this is not what is happening, there is something not getting handled right on the browser. I'll go check the usergroups to make sure it's not a permission / usergruop setting.
Edit: there is nothing server side keeping the post edit function from working as described.

Hmm, very strange. The desired action you described is exactly what I was hoping for (refresh the page and show the same page instead of just staying at the edit box) but for some reason it's not doing that for me. If I go to advanced edit then after editing it does go back to the page I was on and refresh.

This is an intended change as a lot of times the thread titles were being cut off and hard to distinguish, what resolution are you running at? Should be tolerable / ok for 1024x768 and get better as you scale up.

That's cool if it's an intended change, but IMO it looks pretty awful. I don't usually browse in a maximized window so it gets shrunk quite a bit regardless of my resolution (unless it's extremely high of course). Using a non maximized window this particular thread title is taking up about 80% of the room since the thread title "has" to be on one line, whereas the forum name has "wrap text" or something like that enabled making it much better.
I would recommend fixed width for all the fields and just wrap the text. That will solve the problem of thread titles being cutoff without making it look sloppy.

Yeah I was looking into that, I'll see what I can do. Fixed width with non-fixed with can cause some issues here and there.
Edit: that should be better now, it cuts off after 50 characters in the thread titles.

Is it just me, or am I the only one unable to login using Firefox? Using 3.0.13, on a Windows 7 64bit system, clicking on any links from the forum basically just refreshes the page. Unable to login, unable to click on FAQ links, Register, etc. Clicking any of that just shows the main page.
Unable to also view posts, can click into one of the forums, but doesn't show any messages, that DOES change the page though. It switches to the "who's online" and such content in the main content frame, header remains the dual-boxing.com current header and menu bar.
Very odd, but I'm able to login using Internet Explorer 8 on the same system

It's probably working as intended, but it wouldn't be my choice of configuration.
When I'm at the Main Forums page I can see each subforum that has unread posts. However, that indicator won't go off until I've actually visited every topic in the subforum. What I would rather happen is if the indicator on the Main Forums page for new post was only lit up if there have been new posts since I last visited that subforum. That way I don't have to click on every new thread in General Discussion in order to get the indicator to mean anything when I'm on the Main Forums page. Otherwise I keep on going into General Discussion, seeing that there are the same threads I didn't want to read before (with no new posts), and never knowing if there is actual new posts since my last visit to the subforum.

This is one of the few things I've configured this way. The general thinking is not displaying these images to visitors saves bandwidth, thus saving server resources How much does it save? meh, it may be trivial, but it was one of those "lets see if it matters" type of things.

Perhaps what I'm about to describe is related to the above problem, but I'm not sure. From the Main Forums page if I click on the thread title for the most recent post then everything works great and I go to the last unread post on that thread. However, if I then hit the Forums link at the top of every page to bring me back to the Main Forums section. Even if all threads are read in a subforum (the one I just visited) it still shows the indicator light for a new post. The only way to get that off is to visit the forums, where I find there are no new posts and I just needed to click on the subforum.
Other message boards I visit have the new post indicator go off as soon as you visit that forum, regardless if you've read all the threads (I mentioned this in another post and you said working as intended). I implore you to make these forums the same way as I feel not doing so is causing other issues, such as the one I just described. It's a bit of a pain to click on mark forum as read every single time (I know, I'm lazy).
With all these suggestion, thanks for your hard work Svpernova!

Make sure you're trying to edit the original post (I'm sure you are), when you hit the edit button, it throws you to the simple editor, click the "Go Advanced" button, now you should be able to edit the thread title in the box above the WYSIWYG editor. If you don't see a box, make sure you're in the advanced editor and post a screenshot for me.

This is not related to the other question you were asking about. It's not a problem, because, well, it's working as intended, that's just how the board works.
So you're saying that you can view all the threads in a forum, BUT NOT THE SUBFORUM. and then go back out to the main forums index, and it still shows the indicator for new posts on that forum? Am I understanding correctly? If so, then yes, this is also...working as intended. It's showing you the indicator on the parent forum because you haven't read the threads in the subforum. This is how the 2 biggest (that I'm aware of) php forum systems work (Vbulletin, and phpBB).
What other issues is this going to cause? It's not causing any issues for me, no one else is posting about issues? If you're running into problems, by all means, let me know. The best advice I have for you, is read the threads you want, then go back out to the forum index, scroll all the way down, and click Mark Forums Read (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forumdisplay.php?do=markread). This will mark ALL forums read and reset ALL the new post icons.
Just to show you... There are 3 ways Vb handles thread / post read marking.
Thread/Forum Read Marking Type
This option controls how threads and forums are marked as read.
Inactivity/Cookie Based - once a user has been inactive for a certain amount of time (the value of the session timeout option) all threads and forums are considered read. Individual threads are marked as read within a session via cookies.
This option is how all versions of vBulletin before 3.5 functioned.
Database (no automatic forum marking) - this option uses the database to store thread and forum read times. This allows accurate read markers to be kept indefinitely. However, in order for a forum to be marked read when all threads are read, the user must view the list of threads for that forum.
This option is more space and processor intensive than inactivity-based marking.
Database (automatic forum marking) - this option is the same as a previous option, but forums are automatically marked as read when the last new thread is read.
This is the most usable option for end users, but most processor intensive.
We use the Inactivity/Cookie Based method because it is has the least affect on server performance thus resulting in faster queries, less server load, and faster page loads. Just to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding each option, I tested each one, and each one acted the SAME when it came down to forum new post marking of threads and threads in sub forums.
So, I hope I've understood what you're explaining correctly, if I haven't, please let me know, and I hope I've explain well enough that this is all working as designed / intended. I can't fix what isn't broken and there is nothing that stands out as "this doesn't act like the normal forum software" when this is one of the 2 forum packages I would say are the industry standard.

With reference to this image:

and this thread:

Notice, how I can edit the title (of the post, not the thread) like you mention, but in the top right, the thread title remains the same. If you look in the thread, you will see the first post has the new title (really small at the top of the post), but the thread title has not changed.

ok, sorry it took me some time. I see whats going on now. By default Vb only allows the OP to edit a thread's title for X minutes after thread creation, and at a maximum of 9999999 minutes, there is no method to set this to unlimited. I went looking for a mod and the only ones are outdated, so I used the outdated hack as a guide and did my own, so if you can verify you're now able to edit thread topics, that would be awesome.

Been noticing something weird the past few days. Read a post in a sub-forum and if the thread is only 1 page, it does not show as read in the sub-forum list. If I read last post or page of and multi-page thread, it will update fine.
using Firefox and Panda anti-virus, thought Panda might be blocking a cookie request or something, but why would it work only on some threads.

Looks like the General Discussion forum is resorting itself by thread title instead of last post again, Started sometime last night/early this morning. I thought I hit the link by mistake at first, but it's still happening.

OK it looks like the problem is Firefox. IE6 at work is fine and IE8 at home does not have the problem. Panda is not doing it if it works on IE8. Strangeness but workable.

Is it supposed to be doing it now? If it is, I'm not seeing it. Sorts by date as normal. Using FF 3.5.3 on WinXP here.

bump - still waiting to hear about ignore and polls ?
Click on the person's name, click view public profile, click User Lists, click Add to Ignore List, and then click the Yes button to confirm.
You can easily find this out by click on FAQ in the top right and searching for the word "ignore"
http://www.dual-boxing.com/faq.php?s=&do=search&q=ignore&match=all&titlesonly=0
What issue are you having with polls?

If others like me are having frustrations with the login status timing out, I have found a work-around.
Go to the portal, and click where it says "online users" at the bottom. Leave that window open, and continue browsing the forums in another tab.
The online user activity window auto-refreshes, and therefore you stay logged in.
This has solved a big headache for me, since I would constantly have to re-log in between writing PMs and forum posts before.
I really really hope the admin is not annoyed with me for posting this, obviously I'll delete on request.

Sessions expire after 900 seconds, if you checked the "remember me" box when you login, you shouldn't run into any issues with timeouts, if you do, ease up your cookie restrictions for this site.

Looking at the post above, IT gives me an idea.
Anyway you can add a Report to moderator button, since we all have differing schedules? I often see threads like this one, or for photographs, etc. Things that are against the sites TOS basicly.
Then as the admin signs on, they can simply see the report and take appropriate action.

Added support for:
Tapatalk http://www.tapatalk.com/ (iPhone, Android, Nokia, Blackberry)
BerryBlab http://www.berryblab.com (BlackBerry Only)
These are mobile apps that make reading the forums much faster than waiting on your network to download all the graphics. I've used both and Berryblab is kinda slow, but much more stable than Tapatalk. The Tapatalk app for BlackBerry is crap right now, granted it's in beta, but it seems very unreliable. I only have an older BlackBerry to test this with. So unless someone is wanting to send me a Sprint Evo :), I'll have to rely on anyone interested to report any errors with Tapatalk.
