A while back I tried the FRAPS demo but never could get it to work on my Vista 64 system. Every time I would start the capture it would crash FRAPS. I used to use it all the time and I still have a licensed copy for XP 32 bit. Anyhoo, have any of you had similar struggles with FRAPS?

Second question, what is a good alternative? I tried a few that were posted here a while back but struggled to find anything that works with Vista 64. CAM Studio was the closest I got.

Thanks for the responses

I use FRAPS on Vista 64 and haven't had any issues so far. :)

I use it as well without issue on Vista64. Its possible that the demo version is older software, I know they updated the retail version with Vista fixes a year ago or so though.

Yeah, FRAPS is very solid these days. I've even been using it on the 64-bit Windows 7 Beta and RC to capture video.

I had a problem with Fraps "randomly" closing -- turned out this was due to the benchmark hotkeys being bound to F11 and F12 (I use a game pad and xkeys) -- once I disabled that its worked fine -- I use vista 64.

Apparently I had an old build or something :/ Works well now, thanks!
