Ok When trying to cc (polymorph and entangling roots are the only one for my party)

Can you target a raid icon

ie /cast {target=Raidiconstar} Polymorph

or does it have to be a focus ?

has to be a target or focus target, the API does not allow targeting via raid icon.

You can use Jamba-target to mark and CC, as long as there aren't multiple mobs with the same name. Otherwise, focustarget.
