I just want to say OMFG am I glad I found this forum... I've been reading for about na hour and already see about 100 things to do to make my puny dual-box experience better.

This will be my second attempt at dual boxing. The first one was a nightmare as I had my Mac and a Windows laptop... and the laptop account basically just did "/follow' around for three months. I ended up convincing my cousin into playing with me for a while and it got better, but I only got two characters to 44 before stopping (and the one character donated those 21 levels, but overall a waste).

I read about copying my game file and dual-windowing in Mac (didn't know you could do that) and downloaded CloneKeys and have gotten a priest/warlock to 25 and two druids to 12 in the space of a couple days (okay, I'm really really slow I know). But now I have a couple questions that I haven't seen yet:

I am really fine on my own, and I think some macros I saw will help (/tar 'Charactername' instead of F2 and follow, for example)... but when in an instance (Stormwind Stockades specifically), I have trouble with my 'slave' following me. He either gets hung up because I turned a hard corner too fast, or he will randomly start following a different player.

Secondly: is there a way to have my slave NOT in chat? It's a little bit of a pain to click CloneKeys on and off when in LFG or when willing to pay for run and advertising in Trade... I get a lot of funny tells when two characters say the exact same thing at same time.

Thanks for your help and advice.

I'm on Nesingwary, in an all-alt Alliance guild called <The Dark Tower>. If you're on Alliance side and see either a priest/warlock or double hunters roaming around say "Hi!"

Welcomes ^^

for the life of me i cannot remember the name of the mod but check out Curse gaming and run a search in Wow mods for Multiboxing, there are quiet a few mods that will sort out a bunch of issues with regards to chatting and follows etc etc

what do you mean following a different player? how are your follow macros set up? it seems like that would be impossible. since you're only dual boxing i'd prolly use a simple macro like:

/follow 'mainsname' w/out the quotes also you'll get used to not losing them on corners you just gotta take em wide or let the slave catch up first.

One of the first things you pick up is how to walk properly. Its funny when you set your characters to follow a friend while you afk for a minute then come back to find them all stuck somewhere. Its like, learn to walk noob :P hehe
