I think you could do 4 accounts. 2 Accounts on 1 core each. Or main on one core and 3 other on 1 core. But you will lag 24/7 and your pc would die in Dalaran.

If you get a quad core (a lot of multiboxers including me have Intel Quadcore Q6600, and it works great) i think you could do 5. :) Or 4 with much more performance. Also with 5 boxing my RAM was constantly 99% in use, now i got 8 GB ram and i had around 60% in use.

But Alterac Valley or anything high quality like dalaran wasn't playing great. Had around 15-20 fps in the midfield of AV, so i decided to 4 box. But with leveling my toons i had like 40 fps on main :) So that was great.

Pre Lich King you can probably run 5 no problem.

If you want to go to northrend you need to add more ram and likely jump to a quad core CPU or at least a notably faster dual core... but if you are replacing a cpu, why screw around.

Is that a laptop? You can probably handle 4 on low settings but like previous posters said Dalaran will destroy you.

Dalaran destroys us all!When in Dalaran you can hear "All your multibox are belong to us!" from the NPC's in the area, if you have not heard it turn up the volume on the ambient noise there are secret messages that are just to low to hear. Like there are a few coke ad's in there I am sure of it!

Um you could do 3-4 as some of the others suggest 5 is pushing it and you better be at like low on everything, no sound or anything, and like 15 fps on everyone. Now if you want to actually box with a good set up do as some of the other say get a quad core cpu and your mbing will be much better, I normally set my main to 45 fps and my clones to a max of 15 just so I don't have to worry to much when I play it even though I have an ok system, works much better now that I upgraded to 8G of ram versus my previous 4 under XP, now running Win 7 64 bit edition.

yeah for your system you should be ok running until you hit northrend.

its doable, but the addon cities kill performance, everything on low, i dont even go to dalaran now, i've since dropped the 5 accounts down to 2, since i had to buy a car since my last one died. even with 2, its horrid there. quad core and up need apply heh. anyways good luck
