What to buy with hero badges?

So my team is 80 and I have basically 3 heroics on farm without it being to expensive in repairs. Today I decided to start figuring out what gear to buy with badges in what order etc. However, as I got to looking I don't really see much for elemental shaman. As far as mail goes there really isn't any.(not that i care it's just the principle!) So I was wondering what you guys were doing with your badges?

I loaded up rawr and started to go thru upgrades on that and I can just as easily get gear as good or in most cases better from pvp or crafted. Anyway I was just curious how you guys were spending your badges. This will probably all be useless in a few weeks with 3.2 but I'm bored and want to learn the in's and outs of multiboxing instances now for a easier time later. So I'm getting the badges so might as well spend them on something I just have no clue on what! My tank is done with heroics for the most part so don't have to worry about him at all.

If you have any plans of levelling another team you could spend the badges on BoA shoulders for them.

Other than that I remember the shield was quite nice, and trinket.

I don't know what's coming in 3.2 but I'm still using the following emblem items, with everything else replaced by BoE, Battleground/WG and Rep rewards.

Protective Barricade of Light
Sundial of the Exiled
Beadwork Belt of Shamanic Vision
Heroes' Earthshatter Hauberk

The Heroes' chest is quite expensive in terms of emblems and there's a nice craftable mail alternative. I think there's also a WG (titan) chest and belt you could use instead if WG marks are easier to get. A chest can be found in VoA also.

The sundial's a cheap 1st item and you may get some milage out of it. :)

Now that I've got all my badge gear, I spend the badges on ranged epic weapons on my disenchanter and frozen orbs on my other chars. 10 badges for an orb, 15 badges for an abyss crystal. Both sell really well on my server.

I got really bored one day and checked out all three vendors. Currently, I don't see any valor/conquest upgrades for the shield and 2 trinkets. Every other slot has an upgrade that can be bought for valor or conquest emblems(don't know if they're better or not, I didn't get that detailed). I didn't check whats going to be added with patch 3.2. I've farmed everything I could get on my first team plus the BoA should and weapons for all five accounts, so I've been spending most of my badges on gems. I don't need the frozen orbs because I have H UK, H Gundrak, H HoL, and H CoS on farm. Currently I'm working on getting emblems for my second group and stopping when I have the two trinkets, I already got the shield. Then it's on to the third group and farm up the emblems for the three items.

basically the way i see 3.2 going is this,

conquest badges will be able to be converted to the smaller emblems a the current 1-1 ratio leavign the tier 7/7.5 costs roughly unchanged and purchaable with either conquest or heroic badges, the higher tier pieces will be conquest only and costs adjusted to 200% plus what they cost now to keep the "welfare epic" haters at bay (see the cost of sunwell patch epics vs previous sets). im positive they will NOT grandfather heroic badges and make them conquest badges for the simple reason that it would entail "unnecessary coding" that they could spend elsewhere to get the patch out faster, and avoid the viertual economy from crashing due to people banking items until patch. so my personal plan is to buy gems/orbs with my banked badges, cut them and ah them the saturday after patch release. the upgrades from tier 7 to tier 8.5 are small for my team because i only multibox 5 man content and i raid etc on my main paladin and i have done every heroic except occulus and the 2 old kingdom, so the time it takes to farm the new emblems to get the upgrades is worth the wait for the profit ill make milking the market when demand is high for enchanting mats/leather/cloth/gems.

with that said if money isnt a concern to you ( i dont do dailies except heroic/reg dungeon) and their are viable upgrades to your current gear, get em it aint gonna get cheaper.

I'm as geared as I can be without raiding or buying BoE stuff from raid instances, so I've been spending badges on a collection of heirlooms. I don't really see myself leveling up another team any time soon, but maybe that will change when they can start with cool shoulders and weapons. :)

If you're out of gear to buy - turn them into Gems or Orbs and drop them on the Auctionhouse. Funded 5x flyers that way :)
For your three heroics that's 9-15 badges per toon, depending on what you're running, which translates into 5 orbs / gems a day for the team.

as far as the starter gear goes:
+hit offhand (if raiding)
+hit Cloth Belt (if raiding)
Trinkets (both if you don't have better)

The cloth belt is a great source of +hit if you're needing to reach the hit cap for raid mobs and the offhand with +hit on it is pretty decent as well. I struggled to hit 369hit on my toons in fresh 80 gear without those couple items (we don't run wtih a druid or SP in my 10man crew)

Buy sundial of the exiled for all your guys. It's good and you won't upgrade it for a while. And like the poster above me stated, save other badges for epic gems. Also to the poster who said that conquest loot would have inflated prices post3.2, where are you getting that information? It's my understanding that the prices stay the same, as they are the same right now on the ptr, and the current build is labeled as 'retail' so I would be very surprised if that changed.

This! And BoA items for your alts. The newest badge ( Emblem of Triumph ('http://db.mmo-champion.com/i/47241/emblem-of-triumph/') ) will be available via the normal ( 1 ) and heroic dailies (2 ) so even without raiding, you can get 30ish a month. and there will be some SWEET items available for those. Also, the NORMAL mode 5 man will drop item level 200 epics off every boss. ( same items level as heroic gear now )
