Seems like it would be doable, but I always loose follow and crap...any thoughts?

Pretty easy for me.
target the commander or Lieutenant with all, throw the spear to him.
When they are close, just keep smashing the thrust button.
Will kill them instantly.
The skeletons are simply trampled by strafing or some other movement.
Most of the time this works.
I never use charge since that will scatter the team, and is not required with this tactic.
When there are a lots of instant respawn, you'll get owned most of the time.

I just park my slaves close by the commanders, and solo it, after some practice its liek 4 mins of work.

Niley and KvDM are doing it the hard way.

I /equip argent lance Mount everyone up on the horses, Charge up my shield, and run around and rofl stomp anything in my way while I enjoy being envied by my solo player peers.

Actually, my peers kinda ignore me so I try to help out when I see a poor sap getting stomped by a commander.

Just mount up, charge up shields, and then go throw the armor breaking ability on the commander, and run away, he'll catch up to you and just switch to thrusting, if you can get some distance, armor break him again. You can charge, but it can be unreliable sometimes and the re spawn rate will get you some adds. I've never been dismounted or killed out there. Once I aggro a commander I just run circles thrusting. I can kill a Lt. with 5x armor breaks and 5x thrusts. The smaller guys just get trampled in the process. and the scouts are laughable, 5x armor breaks = overkill on the scout.

How can you break follow? I've never had any issue. Just don't charge.
For me it is pretty easy.. liutenant die with one spear from each and one thrust from each. For the commander.. I out my slaves a couple steps back and keep throwind spears while the main goes in melee. Dies in seconds.

hell, in the begging i remember actually tanking and dpsing the commander without using the horse lol
that's the hardmode, it takes forever.

i had to change my focus macros, the following does NOT work:

/target <personname>
/focus

while mounted. You can't "target" someone mounted. HOWEVER, the following DOES work:

/focus <personname>

/follow focus is the macro I use to follow my leader, and that works whether mounted or not. So if you have targeting/follow problems, make sure your set-leader macros are /focus XXX and your follow macros are just /follow focus (this is assuming focus method with jamba, if you use FTL of course it doesn't do anything).

so for the dailies just re-set focus to leader, follow them, and have a macro to /assist focus and you are golden! The dailies are done in 15-20 mins easy.

Meh - clones flying above the field. Main solo's it. Unless some moron trains a chain of mobs on me it is like 4-5 minutes. Easy Sauce.

Charge is just too much fun not to do and the clones got scattered. If some noob trained a bunch of mobs on me it was a disaster then anyways - worse with all the alts then solo. Just as fast with one as with many. Just make sure to stop broadcasting. Forgot to stop once and had a pile of dead clones in the middle of the field with a Commander laughing at them.

I do this in a minute or 2 tops.

Easy as pie, plus i stack the Valiant/Champion quests, so its super easy gold

I have a macro specifically for assisting and following when I am using vehicles.

Also, don't use charge as everyone stated, unless you are doing it with 1 toon.

This makes me wonder what strat I am going to use in the new 3.2 instance.......I am thinking charge will be more important here.

Thanks guys - Can you leverage mulitboxing on the "duel" type of quests to? or is that just one-by-one?

Thanks guys - Can you leverage mulitboxing on the "duel" type of quests to? or is that just one-by-one?Just one on one. You can still work your way up the ranks without doing this quest. I skip it on everyone cause I'm terrible at it. It just takes me a day or so longer on each tier / rep group.

How do you use a macro while in a vehicle?

How do you use a macro while in a vehicle? if its bound to a slot off your primary bar (the bar that switches to vehicle interface) you should still be able to use it via keybind.

slaves enter horses, type /follow main to get them on follow, and then jump main onto horse. Spam your button for "target nearest enemy", + melee attack and ranged attack. I one-shot lieutanants and kill commanders in a matter of seconds.
Dont bother with charge, it disrupts follow.

my jousting macros are as follows:

f key (Bound to right actionbar 2):
/focus dorffo
/follow dorffo
/assist dorffo

That will get them all focused on my main, and assisting on my target. I've found what works real well is to lead with 5x shield breaker then charge with the 4 slaves while just running forward with my main... if I hammer that follow key they dont end up all over the map :)

The trick for the duel quests (I can get all 5 characters done in 11 minutes total)

to put 1 on the horse
put the rest on foot behind the one on horse
activate the mob for the dual, do not follow him
hit the mob twice with armor removal ability
dps down the mob using the 4 other chars (mine are all casters)
if the mob builds up armor get range and knock it off the mob
repeat x 3 for the current character on horse, then repeat for each other character

Interesting, I'll try this. I thought about this before but figured their armor / damage reduction was too great to make it worthwhile.

I made a Macaroon profile for each of my toons that allows an FTL setup for Before the Citadel. It's mostly overkill but I occasionally lose my leader to commanders if I pull scout aggro, and have to switch to another leader. I plan to incorporate this into my regular FTL setup when the new instance comes online, 'cause I don't think I'll be able to switch profiles in combat.

Use an add on for the /follow focus, /tar focustarget stuff. I used autobar and then downloaded bindpad. Alt-f for me triggers the master macro that follows/targets. Then run around as others have said, don't charge, and wipe stuff up.

I struggled with this exact thing ( read my old posts ) for awhile. Its very easy now. Both the dueling ( grand melee ) quest and the ones at the gate. Just like someone else mentioned, I do the Grand Melee quest with one mounted and the rest assisting on the ground. for fun ill pop my Fire Eles so they can help anyone else who happens to be dueling there 8). For killing the Commander and Lieutenants I have the following macros. In Bindpad i have /focus playerx /follow focus /assist focus ( bound to F4-8 ). That is the macro i always use ( vehicle mounts or not ) to switch my focus, follow that new leader and switch the new leaders screen at the same time ( PiP ) Then my follow macro ( same one I use all the time ) is /target focus /follow focus /assist focus and I have that bound to my tilde key ( ` ) So while mounted i can target the mob/player with my leader and hit that. now everyone is assisting the leader. Easy stuff!

As a side note, these macros make it so i can drive a demolisher and have 2 of my guys in the seats, when i hit that macro i can target people behind me trying to kill my demo and kill them. I only do that when i can not get 5 demos.

I'm only on lieutenants at the moment so I don't mount up, I just throw totems down, gather and burn. But this is probably not doable for commanders?

They like to run around to get distance for charge, and aggro everything in Northrend for you. This, with a large health pool and huge damage reduction at a full stack of Defend. Better to mount up at least one toon and play it Blizzard's way. :)

yeah that's what I do for duels - 1 mounted and the others dps :) super quick and end up with 49000 health lol

Hello All,

I am faster doing 5 normal style duels than applying a nuking strategy with my slaves support.

At the Citadel I just use the same macro that was described above to acquire main target and just shieldbreak lieutenants to death. For commanders I use a slight variant in my broadcast and I do not broadcast the charge. This way I do charge the commander with my main and mass shieldbreak him while keeping him in front of my slave rack. It goes very fast.

I tried the "1 Mounted 4 DPS" strategy for the dualing quests and it definitely worked well. Overall was pretty fast even though you have to repeat it for all five toons.

However, it just didn't feel right doing it that way. Although, I made sure to help out the other people doing it at the same time which made me feel better =).
