Any one ever tried to PL anything without using RAF say in instances?

I'm really wanting to play a solo rogue for arena with my friends as well but I'm not sure if the usual RAF instance boosting guides would be good or if I should just try and figure it out myself?

Any thoughts?

Solo leveling is bit boring after you´ve tryed boosting..

My advice is that youshould get to lvl 8 asap, and start boosting...

I havent tryed playing with RaF before, therefore i only know the slow way.. but its not that bad..

The best way is simply to find a way to keep your lowbie @ the entrance of the instance, and still get exp (Pulling mobs closer to your lowbie is very effective)

When you hit SM cath, be sure to kill the first mob in the instance before you enter with lowbie, then if possible stealth or avoid as many mobs you can untill you reach Mograine, kill him > wait for the healer to rezz him, and pull him all the way back to entrance (this way every mob in the intire instance is pulled with you, resulting in lots og exp from one pull..)

BTW - See if you can find more players for boosting, youll then get group exp, which makes up for the lower exp gained with more ppl in group.. I normaly boost til 4 lowbies and one high lvl Druid (Stealth + Bearform = imba)

What I'd do with my warrior is invite some random pug to get boosted as well. Then I'd put my boostee /follow on that guy while I mow down everything in the dungeon. it has the added benefit of someone else doing the looting. My loot policies varied but were typically "I get superior or better unless you can use it". Picking up the blue and purples along the way made for some really good cash as a lot of them sell really well to twinks.

I was boosting with a warrior, so a shaman will probably be a bit slower but it's a damn sight faster than solo questing.

If you are leveling a single toon and you have a bunch of high level guys to help, I would quest boost.

Basicaly run quests with your rogue and have all the shamen on follow but not grouped. Tag the mobs you need for quests with the rogue and blast them down with the shaman. Use the shaman in a group when you have quests that involve instances. But with that much firepower behind you, it will go fast. This is what I did with my original group. 1priest and 4 mages. I got to level 68ish and needed a tank. I dropped a mage and powerleveled a paladin via quests with the other 4 nongrouped on follow. It went very fast and collection quests were a non issue as well. After about level 30 I just grouped them all, Even though I took an xp hit on mob kills. It was just way faster to steer with the paladin and mass blast with the mages and priest. 3x arcane barrage pretty much 1 shot anyting in vanilla wow.

Just use one of the many online quest leveling guides like Jame's or what not and you will be 60 in no time.

I'd really consider RAF, even though you said without RAF.

Create the rogue on the account you're keeping and already own.
RAF from this account once, to a new account.
Pick a toon that you might want to transfer or try out at higher levels; you're under no obligation to keep this toon.

Just buy classic wow, you won't be keeping this RAF account.

Group the rogue and the RAF toon together.
Boost to 60, with your best geared high level toon.

Paying for the RAF account for a month credits the existing account with a month of play time.
Paying for the RAF account for two months, gives the original account one Zhevra mount.
I'd personally only do the one month, a mount is not worth 15 bucks extra spent, imo.

You're out the cost of one vanilla wow.
You gain countless hours, since RAF is so much faster.

If the original question is understood rightly by me

You can learn to play the character at any time, and its likely easier to do so when you have all the skills available to you. So level it however you want. Rogues can be fun but people can get caught up on being rogue-ish. My brother would stealth sap blah blah everything, Whereas I would rarely stealth while leveling and just keep stabbing things in the face so my procs wouldn't wear off. Leveling a rogue via solo play really wont help you learn to PvP with a rogue.. unless ya just want to practice on NPCs.. in which case boosting is still advisable.

Install and XP per hour deal, like fu_experience for example.

Figure out what instance you can do easiest with the minimal amount of higher level characters at walking speed. Enter that instance with your low level character and the above subset as soon as you can zone in using the following webpage. http://www.wowwiki.com/Instances_by_level

So at 35 you do ZF and murder even elite mob you see. I usually ride mounted past the fountain, take a left to the first gate/arch and then head back to the instance portal with the mobs in tow behind me. Then we both mount up and head to that same gate/arch and I do the up to the hydra area and head back to the gate/arch. Then I do 100 trolls event quick and reset.

So at level 40 you can zone into BRD, likely with one or two of your other characters you can tool on the mobs in there handledly (the training route, two prison routes, arena and a quick emp run). You need to get a pace set for how to burn down the mobs quick. If your OOM you need to bring in another shaman and look what the hit to the XP is.

I BRD I walk someplace without aggro and then pull a few pulls worth on me, the problem are the net they spam at you there so you cannot go crazy and pull too far.
