I just love guys who have nothing better to do than start a verbal confrontation. I mean seriously, whats the point? Do people take pleasure in arguing?

The "parents paying" thing is really funny.
The most frequent comment I get is "wow this must cost you a lot", or "how much do you pay for that". Like they cannot come up with it : "I pay N for one account, how much does he pay for five accounts". Then I usually tell them something like "65 euros is not so much when you have a job", and they just seem to not even have thought about that posibility.
Probably just kids.

I have never had a hate tell in my year+ of MBing and the other day I got one that was pretty nasty and I told him that I could get him banned for it. He, of course, ignored me right after that comment. Guess who's still playing and not banned? Me! Me 1, Hater 0.

I very rarely have run into negative comments on horde side on Eldre'Thalas. I think the worst was someone saying something along the lines of "that's gay" or "you're gay" as he ran by. I always ignore the negative comments, and he didn't address me after that. Aside from that, I've gotten a lot of positive comments from people.

The guy in those screenshots, you can't even tell what his problem is. He didn't mention PvP, so it probably isn't that. Is he just jealous? He mentions kill stealing, did a multboxer kill "his" Mottled Boar or something? He sounds bitter over something minor that probably happened so long ago that he can't remember it. Boo-fuckity-hoo, IMO.

I recently received what seems to be a very genuine apology from person who I was having the disagreement with. So I edited out the original post and picture. I guess we all have bad days, I've certainly had my share.

WoW is full of people who have no seeming control over themselves, and they spew the most ridiculous things in whisper, MBing or not. Nerd rage is rampant.

Back in BC, I caught the PvP bug, badly, on my rogue. It was all I did, and I was horrible at it, in the beginning, I had virtually ignored PvP except some dabbling when Warsong Gulch was originally released, and some forays into the first gen AV epic battles.

So, there I was, in horrible gear, dying a lot, killing some, having a BLAST. I was learning the power of rogues - it's purely psy ops. The only thing that can get a group running around scared is "Rogue!" So I played that up and started learning how to sneak into spots I shouldn't be in. :)

So I got into it with a horde player in av, another rogue, wearing Season gear. He was that annoying undead mace rogue that jumps around like a flea on crack, too. I was'nt that good, but I like a good fight, and we went at it several times - and neither getting the kill because other players would come up and it would just get into the usual route. I finally caught him down near the bottom of the map, in stealth - he put up a fight but I got him down and got the HK, and for some reason, I /loled at him. I, as a rule, don't play those games - I was just psyched at the kill. It was one of the first times I'd taken out another rogue, and he had clearly more superior gear than I did.

So the match ends, and I'm waiting in queu for the next bg, and I start get the nastiest whispers from a character that was <my name>suxdix, or something completely childish like that. It was nothing but "You suck, you don't lol at me in MY bg, gtfo out of my game, you suck, your gear sucks, you're bad", etc... Just a whole wall of pink text.

I laugh, thing about it, and sent him this:

"Yeah, I do suck, I've only been doing PvP for a few weeks, I don't have any gear, and guess what? I * still* kicked your butt. Enjoy your ban, reported, pal."

No answer. Tried to /whisper, no such character exists.

haven't had hate in ages - I think we're so well known now.

Had a funny experience yesterday doing the neutralise daily in icecrown, I'm on a pve realm and this ally is standing next to me as I start the event and he starts to drag mobs over to my totems to annoy me, but it's ok I just ignored them, then he go kites the big boss mob over which I think is an elite, so I see this mob coming over and think "just get on with your life loser" and he kites the boss right into my totem farm. Well I just got rid of all my totems and went to the other side of the cauldron and continued the event while the boss beats on this ally till he's dead :) he got a 5xKEK from me.

"that must cost you a lot of money?" - to which i reply, no more than a night out (you can certainly tell the kids from adults on the responses back from this one)

and

"how come they all have the same gear?" - talk about stating the obvious, but they don't seem to get this one... "hello, they've all run the same quests and picked the same rewards" (common sense is really lacking some times)

generally most people are on the positive side, I can't remember the last time i had a negative tell.

yeah - it's really changed over the last 18 months, I used to get a lot of hate and now it's either people who are genuinely interested in what I'm doing and how or I just get comments like 'Awesome' - Someone the other day even nicely warned me that it would be prudent not to walk around Dal as I might get reported lol.

I'm currently boxing my first 5 shaman to 80, currently at 65 and was in AV and ran into a nice person who multiboxed also, but wasn't on the toon on the opposing faction, usually it's all very positive, I felt a little rude I didn't have more time to chat but as I'm still learning the ropes but only once or twice people consider I have 'no-life' for being able to spend so much on WOW.

This is the all times best reply that makes haters go away in no time:
"Auto respond message: You are whispering to a daltonic person that cannot see pink letters. Please try whispering in other color so I can see what you say. Thank you." --> Once even replied it to a GM. The guy freaked :) Just macro it and hit it every time you get a hate whisper. I use this one when I am questing or doing something and don't want to argue or giggle the hater.

These are my other replies just for fun:

"Yeah, you are right. Now, welcome to my ignore list" --> followed by /ignore

"Sorry if this is disturbing you, the jail psychologist told me to find another hobby instead of raping and killing other men with my bare hands." --> At this time that person stops whispering me or just replies with a "WTF???".

I really love to use this one because it just melts the two brain cells most haters have.

Ive 2 boxed WoW since it came out, 4x mages is new for me. Ive made it to lvl 30 so far with mostly interested folks. Ofcourse ive had my fill of "Yer Gay" . but today I got a good one I gotta share. this guys Uncle is a GM ... Oh noes!

LOL I agree, I have no problem paying for entertainment from WOW. In the long-run you have the right idea- i always look at it this way.I used to buy RPG games like that, spent a fortune on it.

Crushridge and that battlegroup seem pretty enlightened. Every now and then someone will say something in a BG and I won't have to defend myself as many others will do it for me.

I've used the cell phone thing as well. I pay $80 a year on my cell phone and $60 a month on my WoW. Of course, taking the family to the movies and buying drinks and popcorn means $60 at least. Really, $60 a month for this amount of use is still an incredible bargain.

Of course, I'm not flipping burgers. They never seem to quite catch on that maybe some of us have jobs that pay real money. Like if they had an extra $45 a month they'd be living the high life.

I don't think anyone ever swore at me while complaining about multiboxing. But if anyone ever did, I'd report them so fast their heads would spin. I am very cautious about my language when dealing with anyone in-game, especially if I don't know them. If you want to be a prick and swear at me, you can take it up with a GM. And please, PLEASE... come back three hours later and swear at me again for being a "snitch."

While all the attention is a downside of multiboxing - I have enjoyed it because I've got to meet some cool people and that is the whole point of the game - the social aspect. You get to meet a lot more dicks as well but thats what ignore is for I guess. :)

Yeah I get random tells saying stuff like "that's gay" or "what a waste of money". I normally ignore those...

My favorite was sitting in SW at like level 30 and someone comes up and says "Nobody cares about you and your stupid 5-boxing", I respond with "Yeah and I see so many people commenting about you and your 1-boxing". Then about 20 people decided to chime in and continue to make fun of him and defend me.
