View Full Version : Keys not being passed after group fear?

Anyone ever had this? Your team is bunched up 20 yards back from the tank, and the mob you're fighting drops a fear on everyone, or a stun, or a disorient type effect of some sort, and suddenly none of your keys are being passed to those toons? Or if they're being passed they're not triggering the same effects...

For all of my healing and dps my macros on my 4 slave toons are set to either target me (to heal) or assist me to get their target (to dps). After one of these effects, even with all toons facing me, nothing happens when I mash my dps buttons or my healing buttons. The toons aren't silenced. Even on the healer, where they have mana, they're not silcened, they're facing me though that doesn't matter for a healer, and they're not out of range at all.

To fix it I either need to tell all my toons to follow me, and they need to actually move a bit so must be in range, or wait it out. Seems after about 20-30 seconds they suddenly start working again. Or immediately after following and then forcing a break in the follow.

Really weird. I use Hotkeynet, which I've found amazing, but have only seen this occur since switching to that actually. Granted, my initial levels using autohotkey were very timid and didn't encompass much time.

Anyone seen something similar? Is there an issue with targeting that can occur?

Thanks!

clear target and re target (most of the time only have to do this on my main, but if heals are messed up may have to hit esc to clear slaves targets as well)

I'll give that a try, maybe start passing ESC to the slaves as that'll be an easy way to drop all targets, good call.

Glad I'm not crazy, stupid Ingvar in UK caused me a lot in repair bills last night due to that happening after some spells :(

Just re-iterating here, fear messes up your targeting, gotta switch or drop a target then get it back to what you want for assisting to work right.

various crowd controls screw up assists. there's probably a way to make it better by first clearing target prior to the actual assist call but i haven't messed with it. it can really get you killed fast in pvp

I don't play WoW so I don't know if this is a HotkeyNet problem or a WoW problem.

If it's a HotkeyNet problem, it can be fixed by changing your settings or script. If you want help with that, you'll need to post your script, tell me the blue messages you see when you press the hotkey, etc.

It's a WoW problem. Happens a lot actually and I find it very annoying. Im not sure why the game wont let you cast on someone who just feared you...

Since 3.2 I've noticed that in HoS, after a fear, my tank will be attacking a fresh mob but the followers will show the tank's target as a dead mob. I've had to get the followers to target something else then reaquire the tank, as mentioned above.

I added a /cleartarget prior to my /assist XXXX command and this appears to fix the problem.

I do know, when your leader is feared or CC'd, the other toons cannot read her target.
So if your current lead is say Cycloned, then regardless of what they target, the slaves cannot read that.

If the leader is feared, but the slaves are not, the leader is useless for targeting.
Not sure if that's your issue.

You can change your macro's a little.

#show Lightning Bolt
/targetlastenemy
/cast [target=focustarget] Lightning Bolt

Even if your leader is feared, the slaves will at least cast at someone.
