This appears to be an all inclusive addon that has the functionality of:
Quest Helper
Quest Guru
Gatherer
Cartographer
OneBa(nk/g)

I am not interested in a chicken egg sort of deal as clearly the separate mods have advantages over Carbonite as well as Carbonite having advantages over the separate ones. What I am wondering is to pick the brain of people who have used Carbonite to know if what I am seeing is normal as it seems, wonky though. For what used to be a paid for only addon this seems a bit odd to me.

I am using Tour Guide and what I loved is when Carbonite showed me where I had to go to start the next quest that was my active step in the guide. But this doesnt always happen and Ive no idea what I am doing. I also have turned on Auto Track which I seem to have to turn on over and over again. And I am not entirely sure that the pathing takes into consideration everything that is potentially going on. I also can not get the herb/mine tracking to show up on its map.

Does anyone use Carbonite regularly and can tell me if thats just some of the limitations? I Have wanted an addon that I can give a list of quests I want to do and have that included in the pathing for a long time... It will just annoy me if it only some times works though :)

Going X to get Y to complete quest at location Z seems to be a limitation, it just doesn't work. You can get nodes to show up, but I haven't found a reliable way, once I do, the regular minimap is going away. Aside from that, <3 Carbonite.

Quest Helper puts marks on the map, and gives you an arrow which points towards those marks.
What would really be helpful, would be waypoints along the path, so you don't head straight into a mountain which cannot be run through.
Not so much of an issue once you can fly.

I haven't found an addon that does this yet...

That has been on the Todo list of Quest Helper for as long a it has existed.

Ah well, While Carbonite looks like it has potential and I really do like its mapping more than Cart.. which annoys me so much I dont use it.. it looks like the individual addons are the way to go for now. I could almost deal with Carbonites inability to track all of the party member's quest progress if it would give me the nav points of where to get the quests from Tour Guide.. but since that is not a reliable function of it ill just suck it up. A few more runs through this RaF guide and Ill probably have it memorized anyways.

Here are some screenshots, so you can compare if you are getting the same as me.
It was (and occasionally still is) a pain in the ass to get settings that I like. Also, it occasionally gets the scale of the minimap overlay slightly off. But overall I am very happy with the addon.

Good luck finding a good solution!

Going X to get Y to complete quest at location Z seems to be a limitation, it just doesn't work. That's odd. My primary use of this addon is to show me exactly this information. I wonder if you have a wrong setting? [Edit: Wait yes, sometimes it points you towards where you are to use an item, without telling you where to get it from first.]

I use carbonite, but have the carbonite map directly below the minimap as I like to see both, I have the carbonite map approx the same size as the minimap. To get nodes to show you'll need to go into the options and import the nodes then it'll work. The reason I use both maps is that carbonite isn't that great in instances.

What he really meant to say is that Carbonite is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE inside instances. I also use both maps, but I put my carbonite minimap inside my Sunn Viewport bar at the bottom. It looks much cleaner that way, and is out of my field of view unless I specifically WANT to see something on it.

And as was stated, you need to go to "Options" -> "Import Nodes" -> "Import from Cartographer" (iirc). It's something like that. You will get so many nodes that you will want to turn it off when not farming resources (at least I did).

I liked QH it was nice but it's a resource hog, I switched to LightHeaded and Tom Tom, mixes well with Tour Guide still, the only down fall is QH has all the pretty arrows and ant lines etc, LightHead + tom tom is just a waypoint arrow.

I started playing WoW in Febrary... and QuestHelper was one of my first addons. I used it for about 2 months before a friend irl suggested carbonite. I got Carbonite, and have NEVER wanted to go back to QH. Carbonite is better than QuestHelper in every way that I could think of.

I have TomTom and Lightheaded (that I used with the WoW-Pro addon)... and IMO those are the IDEAL quest-finishers:
Carbonite
TomTom (required for other addons in this group)
Lightheaded
TourGuide
** WoW-Pro addon

The WoW-Pro addon got two stars, because it truely is amazing. I dinged level 80 after two quests in Zul Drak, and unlike they suggest... I did NOT wait until level 70 to take the Zep to Northrend. For me, 68-80 was Howling Fjord -> Borean Tundra -> Dragonblight -> Grizzly Hills -> two quests in Zul Drak. Add to that the fact that I got the achievments for "I toured the Fjord" / "Nothin borin about Borean" / "The Might of Dragonblight / "For Shizzle my Grizzle".

If you are trying to quest... get Carbonite, go to WoW-pro.com and download the addons needed for their guide. It was seriously the easiest thing I did. They even TELL you where to go to get the items needed when "use ____ on ____". It really is a great addon-guide.

I am just disappointed that due to lapses in each addons abilities the other addons are required. Can Carbonite put down a way point? Yes, but you use Tom Tom for that and it works reliably.

I am right now redoing my entire set of addons and I am trying to work in Carbonite cause I really did like the map and the icons on the screen layout. What I do not like is their internal menu system, I would love to see them rewrite to use the provided interface cause while I am a huge fan of blue black gray color schemes. their menus are hard to read cause of the lack of distinction.

everyone seems to rave about Carbonite, I am just trying to find a way to make it useable..

For now though I am trying to find a bar replacement addon that is not shitty to lay out (Bartender 4 and Macaroon so far) or lacking in power (Dominos) and I am having no luck. I am almost thinking it would be easier to write all the macros by hand than try and set up some of these bar mods

I am more so looking for Quest Starters than Finishers, hehe. Tour Guide says !A Bump in the Road. It would be nice if it set a way point at the quest giver.

Wow. It was worth paying for just the Google-style map alone before it became free but your screen shots clearly show that I am not getting the most out of Carbonite! Very nice.
