4 WEEKS TO BLIZZCON! Meeting Details and Restaruant List inside! (Mod's sticky this please)

Greetings all!

Ellay is somewhat swamped at work and asked me to help get the planning stages moving along.

With that said there are 4 weeks until Blizzcon, the goal of this thread is to get a restaurant picked, number of people attending figured out and reservations made.

The D-B dinner will be on Friday Night @ 8 pm, Restaurant TBD. If the last blizzcon schedule holds true, this will be during the dancing and costume contests.

I am looking at the Disney city walk as there is a ton of stuff there and its very close to the convention center. Most of the places there serve beer and are open to all ages.

With that if you are planning on attending please reply below and i will update the list.

I am coming to Blizzcon with a bunch of Guildies (7 of us are making the drive). I am not 100% sure what "our" plans are, but I would love to come. I am new to WoW (started playing in Feb of this year), and I am even newer to Multi-boxing (just started last week)... so meeting people who are ALREADY doing what I want to be doing (running 5-man heroics by myself) would be AWESOME.

Count me in as 1, and if I have more people coming, I will update before the deadline.

I saw them on Youtube for BLizzcon 2 and 3, while they were cool, i would rather have dinner :d

You sure you want to have dinner at the same time the floor is still open? ?( Just saying, there are demos still running until the halls close. Last year we watched the contests, while some friends played Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. I want to meet up with the DB crowd, so maybe we can also set a place for a lunch meet up on Friday or Saturday (the food in the Convention Center is not so great). Also a mid day break is advised from the black dungeon that is the ConCenter.

Best to have multiple options.

Part of the idea on having the dinner why blizzcon is still going on is getting into a restaurant. There will be a ton of extra people from the convention along with the normal Friday/Saturday night Disney/LA people there.

If the masses vote for something later we can do it at 9, but be warned even with reservations, we may not even start eating until closer to 10

Trust me, the organizers are pros at this. The dinner last year went off without a hitch.

Lunch won't work because you have an artificial time limit of getting back to the con. Dinner doesn't have such a limit.

If anyone needs a ride to/from the con or the eating place, I'll volunteer to help out.

No way would I miss the costume event, was one of my most favorite parts of the show, was very entertaining.

If i wanted to watch stuff on the internet, I would have saved a lot of money and stayed home and did the direct TV thing. The costume contest and the dancing is fun to watch "live". Watching stuff on your PC does not replace that "live crowd energy". There has to be a better time. I have no prob staying up a bit later if we did the dinner after events.

Thursday is out as a number of people will not be in town yet
Saturday night is out due to VLG and the sheer amount of people trying to get dinner reservations around Disney land in August is damn near impossible. (Concert during Blizzcon2 didn't get out until almost 10pm)
While some might be fine with getting to a restaurant around 10pm and eating around 11pm isn't cool for others.

Lunch during a large event usually has issues of its own such as having a set start and end time. Theres a lot of events that do go on during the day such as the panels, events and tournaments along with game demos running, dinner is just easier in that respect seeing we can take our time.

Its a toss up as to what you want to get done/see while at Blizzcon, personally I would rather get to meet fellow dual-boxers and other players for some food and drinks.

So the deal is this, if you cant make it because you want to stay and watch "Dancing with the Scourge" or "Thrall's Closet" please have fun at the event, we make poke fun at you during dinner however :whistling:

I'm sure there are going to be a number of late arrivals at dinner, if want to catch up with us later for drinks please post as well, but I need to get a firm number of people for dinner in order to make reservations.

If you are going to be coming to dinner please list order of preference or any other ideas, also if someone wanted to get a D-B Breakfast going on Sunday please feel free to organize one but start a different thread.

Let's handle this in a situation where the time slot that fits best with everyone is the day/time we pick.

So below please put what time you Prefer to show up as, and then a secondary time slot.

I will go first.

Primary - Friday night 7 pm.
Secondary - Saturday night 7 pm.

I'll tally it up and then we can have a good idea of coming together the easiest.

Also!! The meet up dinner will have a goody bag, hopefully similar to what Vyndree had last year but maybe not as cool, I'm planning on getting a T-Shirt for everyone, so when you fill out your time slot. Please say what size T-shirt you wear, and if you want a pink one haha.

I'll be at blizzcon and would love to meet up for food/drinks/whatever, but there's no way I'm going to miss the contests or VGL :(. Last year we went out to some bar after dinner where the WoW Insider people were supposed to be. If people wanted to meet up someplace casual like that after the contests/dinner, I'd be up for it!

No chance on tickets but hell I'll come up and have dinner with you all, I need to get out of the house anyways its freaking hot so can't do much WoWing out, that and I am still in the process of resetting up my computer, had some issues and it died some what.

I would prefer Saturday at 7 but I can do Friday, I'll just take the day off, so I can do either! I'll take that Friday off anyways, I got 2 personal holiday's in the books I can use up yay!

Oh and Buca di Pepo that place rocks! I am not a pizza eater but I am sure the pizza place got some salads or something I can eat.
