As a means to provide more flexibility to play with your friends, or move to a realm that may better serve your needs, we are reducing the cooldown of the Paid Character Transfer service from 30 days to 3 days. This should prove particularly beneficial to players who move to a realm they don't enjoy and wish to quickly move to a brand-new realm. For more information, please see the Paid Character Transfer FAQ ('http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=20558') .

And it shall be so.
I thought one had to wait several months before being able to transfer again. Where did I get that ?

If they are looking for ways to make more money ( now that they lost millions of china subscriptions ) They should charge an additional 5 bucks a month to extend RaF account benefits 8)
the 3 day move is a good idea though 8)

I would gladly pay a premium to extend my teams' RAF time so I could enjoy the quests instead of instance boosting them or to extend the level cap ... It would also be awesome to be able to RAF with a friend's account that already exists.

How long will it be before they implement a paid service that allows you extra experience boosting?

I think they did this for those folks who transfer to RP servers with dreams of RP glory. They wander into the Goldshire inn to pick up a quest and ..... 8|
Just a few minutes in Erpshire would make me want to run away, far away. Imagine being stuck there for a month.

Hardcore raiding guilds with the financial means will also be able to abuse this mechanic to raid the same content twice in a week.

So a whole raid will transfer from one server and back to another every week? That seems a trifle extreme even for the hardcore guilds.

But think of all the server firsts they could get!

Yup. It'll promote ninja-like activities. /yayUmm if someone wants to pay $25 every 3 days for more chances to ninja... more power to em. The only affect this will have on the general population is the increased trade and forum QQ threads.

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter thinks that the switch from The9 to NetEase was done for primarily financial reasons: While Acti-Blizz has an estimated 22% royalty rate for WoW income in their partnership with The9 (about 50-55 million USD annually), analysts are predicting that the NetEase agreement would come with royalties of at least 55% - resulting in annual revenue of more than $140 million every year. So switching to NetEase puts approximately $90 million more in Blizzard's gold-lined coffer every year. For an extra $140 million annually for just switching providers I would ditch the9 as well.

now if only they would cut the price down just a bit. they would probably get more people to use this service actually.

Is 25 dollars really THAT much? (Yes, I know it multiplies if you play more than one character, but still...)

25 dollars x1? Nope cheap. 25x8 err, ya that's 200 bucks. Not exactly expensive, but I kinda hesitate when dropping that much on a game. However, if the wrap everything into one purchase, i.e. mass character transfer AND faction change I will do it in a heartbeat!

Work's been slow this summer and frankly I don't see myself payin $100 per team to transfer from one server to another if and when the time comes. Plus, they should atleast implement something that'll let you know how good of a connection you'll get on each server depending on where you live. I can maintain my latency below 150ms on Earthen Ring even during primetime hours, but won't go lower than 500ms on Farstriders where my brother plays. He jumped servers right after BC came out without telling me while they had the free transfers goin to that server. I know they have the 'Recommended' status next to each server when selecting one, but that's based on population. Even at dead hours (like 5am server/my time on Farstriders) I still get like 200ms lag, even in Goldshire/Westfall. And I don't want to pay for a transfer to another server where I'm gonna run into this problem.
