here is my Castsequence Lightning Bolt macro with modifiers

Hello everyone.

I have decided with this macro that seems to work well for me. maybe it will help you. Or if anyone has any ideas to improve upon it feel free.
Im boxin a Pally Priest 3 Shaman Setup atm

/cast [target=focustarget,mod:ctrl] Earth Shock
/cast [target=focustarget,mod:shift] Chain Lightning
/castsequence [target=focustarget] reset=12 Flame Shock, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt

its 252 of the 255 line limit
This will keep casting Lightning bolt at my target until i press the Shift key at which point will cast Chain lightning... This helps in two ways. For Boss fights where I dont need to cast Chain Lightning and when Im clearing Trash mobs can help with the occasional Chain spam
this will also rest the cast sequence at 12 seconds to reapply Flame shock for boss fights.

Now the reason I chose not for a /focus on my Shamans is when my paladin cycles the group of mobs and see a caster can cast ES and interupt.. down side is all three will be casting which isnt to big of an issue for me.. have enough on my plate and the occasional option to interupt casting is just a perk for me

Use a separate macro for Trinkets and abilities. but the above is macro I spam the most. Dont have to worry about healing as have the Priest for that. do have a healing macro so they all will heal themselves though in an "Oh crap" moment

If you are spamming that button in a boss fight, the reset=12 wont do anything. The macro will halt after your 6th Lightning bolt and dry fire till the cool down for Flame Shock is up. You can still use your modifiers.

If you don't believe me, take that cast sequence, put it on its own macro and spam a target dummy and watch it stop for 2-4 seconds after the last lightning bolt.

You are technically right but.. the cooldown on Flame Shock is 6 seconds (less if talented).. I seriously doubt he can fire all those bolts before FS is off cooldown.

You are technically right but.. the cooldown on Flame Shock is 6 seconds (less if talented).. I seriously doubt he can fire all those bolts before FS is off cooldown. You are Correct, .. but now that you mention it.. is there a way to reset macro on a boss fight at a specific time? This macro works as it will refresh the Flame shock usually within a second of Flameshock ending on the mob So will Work. Or probably could just change it to =combat or something.

Thanks... Well reason why its not in muh Cast sequence is.. Not high enough yet to use it. Shamans right now are 64. And thanks for the link reading through it found out was no way of makeing a macro to reset at a certain time for cooldowns just from the last time the macro was pressed.

But I can at least use the same button for three different spells and just watch out for the FS dot not too hard really.


*EDIT* oh yah well I do see your point now.. no need to even bother with castsequence etc... Want to make sure I can get my macros down for when i get all the lil nifty spells :P pally and priest I have been boxin already at 80 with nice gear... Just usin pally to level Shammies to 80... 64 and hope to get 65-66 tonight :D

Believe it or dont, but shaman can do pretty good deeps just spamming LB. Now if you want to be leet, then you gotta include LvB, but they can function fine without. Raid setting of course.
