Running Vista home, installed NOT as admin first and ran NOT as admin 1st time and it was ok. Opened up setup or options (dunno since it wont open again) and closed the program. Tried reopening the program and now it keeps crashing immediately upon opening with the program has encountered a problem error. I deleted all the files, redownloaded it from your site of course =D and right clicked run as admin, then right clicked the application run as admin and still same problem. I just purchased this less than an hour ago, appreciate any help.

Cant just click on the box to close it, makes keyclone close as well. And I now recall I clicked on 'wizard' when it caused the crash, I didn't close keyclone originally.

i am hearing that v1.9h is crapping out on some systems (i believe its related to winsxs... lovely).

for now, if you are having problems, please back up to v1.9g (available here ('http://solidice.com/keyclone/downloads.html') )

i am now removing MFC from keyclone. this will take a bit of work, but should be done within a couple of days. i had used MFC originally (3 years ago) because i was in a hurry to start using it for banes... and since then i had not bothered to remove it as it wasn't really in the way. with visual studio 2008, i hit a lot of code bloat and encountered winsxs (real crap). the executable jumped from 600k to 950k with a simple recompile. and the zip went from about 1M to 5M, as the new MFC and winsxs stuff is about 10M uncompressed. but now that it's actively crapping out... i've had it and it's time to rip out MFC (crossing fingers)

if all goes according to plan, keyclone should perform better and have a smaller footprint.

watch for an update shortly.

Rob

That did the trick, I was worried about dl'ing it since it said it wasnt supported use at own risk blah blah =D Now its time to see if I can figure out how to get it to work how I want in RoM. TY

Ya, same problem here.

Worked fine on Vista64. Crashes on Vista32 and XP. Not sure if that info helps or not. I ran as both admin and user in both Vistas.

Thanks for the update! Looks good.

I think there is a general view of MFC when most programmers I talk to believe the acronym really stands for Monkey Fucking a Coconut instead of Microsoft Foundation Class library :)
