This is a bit of a noob question, but since I'm at work I don't have access to forums dedicated to the subject.

Does a druid's wild growth put a HoT on those who are fully healed? I believe the spell looks around the party/raid within the range of the spell and applies the HoT to the toons that need it the most, but what does it do if only one person is hurt and 7 others are fully healed?

Since I have little experience with resto druids, why did they nerf wild growth and put it on a cooldown? Was it because a druid could spam the spell if the whole raid took damage and eventually everyone would be rolling with a HoT on them?

Yes, but only if there's nobody in range who actually needs to be healed.

In a raid environment, you can actually launch it on somebody who's just in range, and it will jump to people who are out of range. That's pretty handy after an Omen of Clarity proc on Vezax with careless ranged DPSers who bunch up too close to each other :)

why did they nerf wild growth and put it on a cooldown?
Because it made group healing far too easy. In the same patch, they nerfed the Holy Priest's instant AoE heal in the same way, although that subsequently got a 20% effectiveness boost.

So when I roll around with 4 or 5 resto druids spamming wild growth every 6 seconds there will be people outside of my party getting the heals? Pretty cool... I may not just be an annoyance to horde but also a small benefit to alliance :)

Outside your party, yes, but not outside your raid :)

It's a targeted heal, but the target must be in your group (party or raid). So it'll work in Battlegrounds, for example, but not in world PvP.

Five rejuvenations (which can be cast on any friendly target) will definitely bring a smile to anybody's face though!

edit: grammar!

Before the computer blew up and I had all 5 druids in Dalaran, it was very easy to get some "wtf was that" moments when putting all my HoTs on one random guy.
