v1.9i
--
o bug: wizard startup crash located and fixed

v1.9h
---
o add: region based keymaps (auto-added under the wizard)
o add: setup wizard
o bug: while running with octopus for kvm, clicking on secondary system's window will pip swap if hotkey unset. setting pip hotkey will stop the bug
o bug: mouse-click-passing now clicking on windows properly
o add: preset maximizer layout selector
o add: region combobox selector in setup/command-editor
o add: updated the number of maximum regions from 16 to 32 (is more really needed??)
o bug: will not add windows with blank titles

the wizard should help people get up and running within a minute, assuming you have wow accounts setup and characters ready. just install and keyclone will recognize it is your first time to install... at which point you will see the wizard. if you want the wizard again, the wizard button is under the main list in the setup area.

the wizard is meant for basic setup. use the other panels to fine tune your settings.

also, i have also added region based keymaps to regions created via the wizard. there are 2 formations that use the default WASD movement keys. stack and diamond. stack is associated with the PERIOD key and diamond is associated with COMMA. also, using the wizard, i created a default mouse map so when you press MButton3 (xbutton1) it will push a PERIOD around, triggering the diamond formation.

mouse-click-passing (MCP) has also been tweaked to show a cursor over the other screens when you toggle it on. (there is a setting under keyclone/setup/general for one-click-then-off ... which means, you toggle MCP on... click.. and it will automatically turn itself off. (i found that fairly useful)

have fun!

I havn't had a chance to go back through patch notes for kc and find out - but has the pip been reworked at all? I own kc but I think the version I was using was 1.8 or possible 1.7 something. I have been using Innerspace for awhile now but it is a huge headache to setup and very fiddly - the main attraction to me is the extremly fast pip switching which at the time kc didn't have.

I guess I could test this myself but I am at work and thought others might like to know the answer.

Looking forward to predefined layouts tonight :)

oh and what server u on slats? I was thinking of transferring back....was it barthilas? I think I've had enough of PvE realms and want to go on gank fests :D

Sadly I am now Alliance mate. :( My Horde Paladin and my 4 Shadow Priests are spread over a couple of servers as I played around on single characters with a few friends who dont play often.

I am now an Alliance Paladin on Blackrock and i've decided to boost up 4 Shamans and get back into boxing as alot of my Guild is taking a break while they wait for 3.2 or Diablo 3.

Had a read of your blog and bookmarked it though mate - good to see your still going. :D

any issues with this version? There was someone saying that pip swap didn't seem to work across multiple screens, I haven't tried this version yet

I believe that was me, but somehow I got it working - Think it was the clean install that did it, and so far it's working great, pip switching is faster than ever and mouse click passing is working quite well ^^

the current version seems to crap out on some systems due to an incompatibility with mfc and the various winsxs crude (oh yea.. hate that). and since it really doesn't benefit me much to have it in the app, i'm removing it. hopefully this will result in not only a cleaner/smaller footprint, but also improved compatibility and maybe even a performance improvement. we'll see.

until then, if anyone is having any major issues, the previous version (v1.9g) is available on the downloads page ('http://solidice.com/keyclone/downloads.html')

Thank you so much Rob!

I'm looking forward to play Aion and I own 3 KC licenses. It seems (as far as I've read) that keyclone won't just work due to bot protection programs.

Is there anything you/we can do? I don't know but maybe directly speaking to NCsoft explaining them what your software is about or any other way?

Thank you in advance for your always awesome assistance.

Cheers,
Deekhay

Downloaded and started using last night. Very nice job on it. It works a lot smoother, I'd been using 1.8 I think.

What do you mean by 'crap out on some systems' kc?

I am using Windows 7 and after working out that User Access Control has gotten even more evil since Vista and disabling it I could actually save my settings correctly.

I've had about 3 crashes where my screens go a really a funky pink or green and my sound goes all slo-mo and satanic and I'm forced to reboot. No real warning its going to happen I'll just start to spin the camera on my main window or be riding my mount and boom gone.

I couldn't say with any honesty that I think its keyclone, too many factors in my setup have changed with new os, new vid drivers, new ram, new hard drives.

i thought maybe it could be my sound card (i wasn't using its drivers just was using default windows install ones) so I got the creative pci-ex x-fi drivers from creative and have put them on - we'll see if that makes any difference.

by 'crapping out' i mean the program will exit (popping up a debug dialog usually as it goes). i have not heard it doing any more then that

just posted a hotfix for the crash bug. hopefully this will resolve any crash issues people were having.

and no, the monkey is still in there... that effort stalled a bit when i came to the list boxes. i just didn't want to make people wait any longer, so i re-coded around the other problem to produce the hotfix. figured it would take less time to do that, and it did.

Hi Rob, just want to say I loaded this up last night and it's really great, pip swap is fine on windows 7 and is really quick. Thanks for keeping up the good work :)

PiP swap is still a bit slow for me - even on Windows 7. I was wondering if you use two monitors and if you do what you set your other regions resoultion too? I was wondering if I put them all to 1-1 is that going to break things? Both my LCD's run at 1920x1200.

Right now my main region is at 1-1 my other 4 regions on my 2nd lcd are each set to 920xsomething.

Could this be why my PiP swap is slower? The swap itself isn't that slow its more the window has to reset its size to fit the 1-1 main window.

Let me know if this should be in a new thread.

Hi Slats,

yeah I have 2x 1900x1200. The main screen is on the left and the maximiser resolution is set to 960x600. The other four are on the right and they're 1to1

...don't know what 1to1 means though lol. KC?

I did notice that when I exported my maximiser layout it didn't store the pip key, apart from that it was fine.

edit: specs might me a good idea:
Q9550
8gig ram
SSD for the wow data folder with a sata 3 cable even though everyone I speak to in computer shops says I don't need one I did notice a difference.
Windows 7 RC 7100
GTX 250 OC --<<--going to upgrade this soon as I get another contract >.<
keyclone
carbonite
jamba

screens:
the screen on the left uses the hdmi card output from the video card via a hdmi to dvi cable and the one on the right uses dvi - I'm going to get a proper hdmi cable for the left screen as I'm pretty sure it has a socket for it

My specs are incredible similar (except my monitors are the other way around oh my!)

Q9550
8GB RAM
SSD for OS/Programs, SSD for WoW, Normal SATII drive for Data
GTX 280 1GB
Windows 7 7100 RC
Keyclone
Jamba
Carbonite
etc

spooky - it doesn't make sense then as your video card is way better than mine - I guess it might just be your maximiser setup ?

edit: are you overclocking your cpu? mine is running at 3.2 with an fsb of 1600 - I've found this to be the most stable while keeping the stock cooling fan - I could push it to 3.6 but 3.2 is fine. I found the stock 2.8 a little slow.

Rob I have not said it in a while, but god damn I love Keyclone. (I think I have bought like 5 licenses so far, and glad to have done so. Multiboxing is all that keeps this game worth playing to me any more. It is just so much fun, so many options, and so much room for creativity, that single boxing will never, ever provide.

Any way - Thanks again Rob. As usual you rock!!

Weird bug, think it's happening since 1.9g:
If I hit the "pause" key to mute key broadcasting while pressing left+right mouse button to move, my mouse cursor will be "banned" from the currently active client window. There is no way to get the mouse back to that window, it will bump back out.
The only way to fix this is to kill said client using the task manager (task bar doesn't work) and restart and rearrange my clients.

Edit: Just in case: Am running Windows XP 32bit, not using maximizer. Am running 4 client windows arranged at the corners of my 1920x1200 screen with 1024x768 and 3x 800x600.

ok, there's one i would never have found... as i use my right hand for the mouse and hitting pause.

the issue is that when you left+right click to move, blizzard moves the cursor outside and to the left of the screen putting itself in mouse-input sort of mode (same with camera view). when you hit pause, that momentarily broke the mouse capture to the wow window... and that's when things got messed up. the wow window is looking for a mouse up event, but since it won't let you in to click, you can't do it (you can if you are quick).

Am using my right hand for the mouse too, but when I'm running around and want to reply to a tell, I hit pause with the left hand.
Any chance to fix this? :) This never happened before I've updated to 1.9g, so I guess it wasn't a problem in previous versions. Edit: A workaround, if someone else is experiencing this problem (I just did it again): you can mouse to the border of the client and left+right click, then move the mouse back into the window. No need to kill and restart the client.
