I have searched and have not found other posts on this problem. I have a feeling it is due to the fact that I play in windowed mode clicking on the taskbar to switch windows, and do not use the window in a window feature of Keyclone. Running Windows Vista Home Premium. My problem is this. I use the F keys for my macros for my slave characters. When I press an F-key, a windows action occurs such as F3 bringing up a search window. TAB is also annoying. How do I kill this feature of windows?

Are you pressing the Windows (logo/start) key and the F(#) key? The Windows key is controlled by Windows. I use a Logitech G15 and it lets me turn off the Windows key. I would look into disabling the Windows key, it will only bring you trouble, either by using it or accidentally bumping it.

No not pressing the actual windows key. Like I said, when I press for example F3, a search window pops up, TAB causes a picture of a window down by the taskbar.

Is it possible you have akeyboard with dual purpose F keys? The one I'm o right now has a whole bunch of extra actions on the F keys - Help, Undo, Redp, etc, etc. Their function is controlled by an extra 'F Lock' key. It's bloody annoying but it's a Microsoft keyboard and I much prefer them as they fit my hands well, are comfortable, and are good quality so I just put up with the oddities.

As stated earlier I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. This problem started several months ago, I believe after a windows update as I never install new software apart from WOW on this laptop.

@ Oathbreaker: The first link posted appears to be a 3rd party program. I do not believe having yet another program running in the backround to be a good idea while trying to multibox from my laptop. Your second link while interesting. does not really address my problem as 1. I am not running Windows XP, 2. I am not looking to kill ALL keyboard shortcuts. I love ones like CTRL-A CTRL-C, CTRL-X, CTRL-V. I am just looking to kill TAB and the F-keys.

@RobinGBrown I am using a Logitec G15 keyboard to save on the keys on my laptop, and have never installed special drivers for it. I just use it as an extended normal keyboard.

id say it has something to do with your windows key, as win+f3 causes a search window to pop up and win+tab causes me to tab through the open windows on my taskbar.

I had this same issue. I would guess that you have Keyclone set to auto-add the "WOW" windows. What happens is sometimes it will add an "empty" window. The only way I could remove the issue from happening again was to uncheck the auto add and add the wow windows manually. Works fine now, take a little longer as you have to add the windows, but the F keys will work.

The same thing happened to me once as well. Thinking back I may have had a "World of Warcraft" folder open which keyclone may have auto added. I just turned off auto add and I haven't had the problem since.

Look on your keyboard for a key with an F on it and and a square around it. I use a bluetooth keyboard when I have my laptop docked which has this "Function" key. If you have it enabled it converts Pause to scroll lock and the various function keys to various hotkey commands such as search, home etc... I have to hit mine once to pause keyclone which turns my F1-F12 into something unusable. You also may have a FN key somewhere that you can hold like you hold >shift< to capatilize letters. Check that and make sure it's not locked down or stuck. >shrug< it happens.

This would indeed appear to be the problem. Had to go back to the keyclone website to figure out how to add windows manually...A mild pain to do it that way, but oh well...Thanks!

EDIT 27 July 2009: Yup Keyclone was showing 4 wow windows when I was only running 3 instances of wow...how strange...I wonder if Mr. Keyclone is aware of this issue?

the auto-add feature will add any window that has the same title.

if you are launching your wows using a desktop icon, when you select it, that title will be grabbed by keyclone for the desktop IE, as the name on the shortcut becomes the title.

you can check the 'exact match' and then tweak the shortcut name... or better yet, use commands to launch your wows and uncheck the auto-add capability. there is no need to manually add a wow window.

Exact match is checked AND the icon names i use are wow1 thru wow4. Launching any one of the icons by itself causes 2 World of Warcrafts to appear in the keyclone window. Considering the icons launch the launcher program, could the launcher program be causing the extra window somehow? I thought about using keyclone to launch wow, but I do not always run all the copies of wow..often I run one or just 2. I guess the launcer program probably is not needed really, I just use it because it seems like if Blizard went to the effort to make it, it must serve some purpose I am unaware of.

Edit: Just put copies of wow.exe into each symlinked wow directory (also named wow1 thru wow4) and then pointed the icons (still themselves named wow1 thru wow4) at them. launching any one of them still causes 2 World of Warcraft to appear in the keyclone window. It would appear I am stuck with adding manually. *shrugs and sighs* I really used to love the auto add feature. Oddly enough the problem did not appear until I upgraded keyclone from version g to the current version.
