Changes to Flying Mounts in 3.2
The Tome
of Cold Weather Flying was discovered on the PTR this week and man...I
think this is exciting! The book can be purchased in Dalaran from the
Cold Weather Flying trainer by any level 80 for a cost of 1k Gold and
sent to an alt of the same realm, faction and account. The tome can be
used to learn the Cold Weather Flying skill by that alt at level 68
which will consume the tome in the process. This means that for 1k Gold
your alt can fly in Northrend as soon as you get there!! Now I am not
sure of exactly how much time that will remove from the time required
to level, but it has to be pretty significant considering this skill is
not available now until level 77. Blizzard had also decided to reduce
the flying mount cast time to 1.5 seconds with the release of patch
3.2, this will be the same for land mounts as well.
