Effex & Luna's Adventures in Naxx

Well we finaly got the rest of our 10 man team to 80 3 days ago and its sure been fun ever since. so over the last few days we've been getting some rather expensive repair bills in naxx and i think we're doing rather well especialy considering the state of our gear and the fact luna is still very new to wow let alone 5 boxing! anyway heres our 10 man team

Team Effex:
Prot/Holy Paladin - epic gear
Disc Priest - epic gear
Ele shaman - epic gear
Boomkin - epic gear
Surv Hunter- fresh 80 blues/greens

Team Luna:
Unholy Dk tank - epic gear
Disc Priest - epic/blues
Ele Sham - fresh 80 blues/greens
destro Loc - fresh 80 blues/greens
Surv Hunter- fresh 80 blues/greens

so anyway on to the fun bit, Naxx Bosses! I'll try to keep things updated with our stratagies and progress while we eh... progress heh


Anub'Rekhan
Difficulty: 7/10
We tried this guy a few times and eventualy found i easier to just have the Mt stand still the whole fight with the rest in the middle. luna's group stayed on the boss while I took the adds.

Grand Widow Faerlina
Dificulty 3/10
One shot! Luna's team stayed on the boss, Mine took down the adds to 10% hp then went on the boss. when she enraged i swoped to an add then back to her. real easy to multibox!

Maexxna
Have only attempted him once as it was geting late will be trying again today.

Noth the Plaguebringer
Dificulty 3/10
One shot! wasnt expecting to kill him quiet so easily, had a targetraid decurse macro on boomkin which helped loads

Heigan the Unclean
Have yet to drop this guy, we're still getting used to the dance with 5 guys each and when changing from dancing to tanking is causing us issues

Instructor Razuvious
Dificulty 8/10
this one caused us many wipes! but eventualy we got him down, luna Mced one guy, I did the other and we just copied out tank heal macro to heal tank pet instead.

Gothik the Harvester
Dificulty 3/10
One shot! Luna's team took the live side, I took the undead, for those trying this one just put your best DPs team on the undead side and its easy enough

Four Horsemen
We tried this one a couple of times but wiped, still need to look at the strategy more but right now I think theres easier bosses we still have to get down.

Patchwerk
Dificulty 3/10
One shot! its just a gear check. no real strategy just bloodlust when he gets to 5%.

Grobbulus
Gluth
Thaddius
Loatheb
all yet to attempt. Im really hoping we can figure out how to drop grobulus as he doesnt seem Mb friendly.

also we we've been to VOA and done the old boss so far, didnt attempt the new boss as our gear just disnt upto it yet. we've tried OS too and got the mini boss's down but wiped on the boss, think this is just down to exp and gear but we're too busy in naxx atm to try again haha

Luna fails at heigan dance!

I have only been playing wow for 4 months and been 5 boxing for 2 weeks! So i am kinda pleased with myself for getting this far!

Naxx is loads of fun. I have tanked half of naxx with a random group its so much better with just me and effex sat next to each other!

talk about timing, we just dropped Haigen!

We ended up with 2 DPS and both priests. I used the pali tank, self clense is handy :) as for the movement issue on the transition from phase 2 to 1 we just had a macro to all follow luna who did her job setting them up on the platform leaving me to tank and get in position. definatly the most fun and long fight we've had here. took 14 mins 8 secs haha

Well we got Loatheb down in one shot :) though it was a bit close just as we dropped him his aoe killed all of us apart from the 2 tanks! haha

Now we need to drop grobbulus or the 4 horsemen and its proving tricky, any tactics for these for be awsome!

EDIT2: Just wanted to add - if you really get stuck at Grobbulus (took me over a month to get the hang of it - my guild is super patient with our multiboxers /hug), you can actually skip him and go play with Gluth. When Grobbulus stands in the center of the room, sneak around the edge and up the ramp... but be quick, because he patrols around. I know you can get to Thaddius doing this, but I don't know if it'll open Sapphrion's lair.

At 7:17 time index, check out the 4 horsemen strat used. Its creative, and apparently works. I haven't tried it myself tho.

cheers fur. though Im not sure we can push enough healing DPS to make its viable yet. whats your take on this ? seems very gear orientated. will give it a shot anyway

I'd like to try that strategy myself honestly. It looks gear dependent for sure, but who knows? :)

well at first glance I didnt think we could pull this method off then after watching the vid a bit more i noticed hes only using his 5 man to do the front 2 so Im thinking if we can pull this using 2 chars at back that would leave 1 tank 2 healers and 5 dps at the front which i think is 1 more than they where using so may even things out. our healing is pretty damn good tbh both our main healers are kited out fairly well and we havnt had any problem with other encounters where healing has been an issue. its just the DPs but saying that since naxx reset yesturday we've got a load more drops already and a few bosses on farm still to do so should be good.

on a side note Im a bit concerned with our surv hunter DPS we have 4 new DPs chars a lock, shaman and 2xhunters and the hunters seem to be the lowest dps y atleast 200dps every boss

I made my own hunter macro and posted it in the macros subforum. I figured out the problem for hunter dps it was just the mana managemt part of my macro spending too much time in viper and me not be bothered to get a macro to set tracking to target mob type. DPs has shot up a lot and hes now much better dps reguarly beating the equely geared other DPs
