Hi Guys,I decided to download the newest stable keyclone two days back. I unzipped the file and then placed it into C:/Program Files/Keyclone. I then launched keyclone; the first thing I noticed is that the launch popup window listed as message of the day, that website was not able to be located. Not a big deal to me, but not sure if this is an indication to my problem. I went into keyclone and added all my toons to the command file and such. I hit apply after each step. Then added the screen layout to maximizer. Again hitting apply after each step. I hit okay when finished, then started connecting my five toons, everything was fine, the five toon loaded. After about 25 minutes of farming I tried to hit my pause key and noticed it wasn't pausing and that my slave toons where not reacting to my keystrokes. I tabbed out to check the keyclone box and notice it was locked up or frozen. So I went into task manager and turn keyclone off. I then relaunched keyclone and all the information I placed in it for my toons was gone. I thought okay, this was because it froze up, so I reloaded all the information again. Connected to wow with all my toons, the keys worked fine. So I logged out and turned keyclone off and then relaunched it. All the information I loaded for my toons was gone again.I tried this again today and the same problem, keyclone will not save my information after I turn it off.I'm running Vista 64bit, should I place the keyclone folder someplace else or do something different? I've completely deleted and reloaded the program twice now. Still no luck. Thanks Guys
hopefully he'll see this soon but if not you can pm keyclone and he should be able to help you out of this mess :)

Hmm this is an issue that defiantly needs looking into. I had my router go on me and so plugged in another modem to tie me over till I could get a new one. Load up Keyclone to find the license had expired and so did whole transfer thing, hit the connect button, dang all settings have been wiped. Is there a folder that has been saved locally I can paste into the Keyclone directory to restore the settings.
Loosing all my key bindings is a real pain in the ass and a new modem will be purchased next week so it is kinda pointless setting it all back up only to loose the settings again in a few days

if your settings are not being saved, that is due to not having permission to write into the keyclone folder. make sure to run-as-admin by either right-click/run-as-admin or setting the advanced property on the shortcut.
also, you should also run-as-admin on the install, to insure the permission are set properly on the folder
(ahhhh.... vista)

That was it. good old Vista. Some days I wouldn't mind kicking old Bill Gates right in the nuts.
Thanks

I upgraded to v1.9I and the crashing stopped. However, I noticed that something is odd with the "windowing".
Typically I have no problems switching to other non-wow windows in the background and accessing my windows startup bar by mousing over (it's hidden until mouseover). Switching to the Keyclone window itself is really finicky now too. Entering in my information automatically wasn't working either. I have never had to run Keyclone as admin in the past, but I will see if that works. I also switched to battle.net recently, but this worked fine with v1.9g. I believe the window switching issue is only on my Vista-32 and XP boxes, Vista-64 has been fine from v1.9H.

Its not a Vista thing only with write permission.
Iam running XP SP3. I installed 1.9i and he set the folder to read only ( admin ). I changed it and he still not saved my do-not-pass rules.
After 3 restarts he finally saved it.

this might seem obvious, but your settings are saved to disk when you hit 'ok' or 'apply'.
hitting the 'x' in the upper right won't save the information (it's the same as cancel)

I am also having this problem with trying to save my battle.net email info. I am running windows XP and not vista. I did the right click run as admin thing and it still didn't work.... Is there something else I need to try?

Same issue here. Keyclone doesn't like battle.net, huh?
I'm running von Vista, and everything else is saved.
Run-As-Admin or not gives the same result, for keyclone is not installed in a subfolder of any system-folder.
I've tried, though ;-)

I've never had a problem saving on Windows 7 64bit, always running as administrator, hope you guys figure out what's causing it.

If you make any change hit ok or apply. I found when moving around between my command setups that it was a bit erratic as to when information was saved and not.
For example I would go into my commands - and select acc1, I'd enter my battlenet email address. I'd select acc2 and do the same thing. Scrolling back up to acc1 the change wouldn't have been reflected.
hitting Apply or Ok after i changed acc1, then navigating to acc2 and hitting apply or Ok after i made the change ensured the changes were reflected.
One suggestion for improvement (if Rob reads this)- make it obvious if the changes are going to be saved or not.
e.g in the case above. If i make a change to acc1, then go to acc2 a pop up stating
"Do you want to Save changes" Yes or No or something of that ilk.
At least this way you know that the changes you've made will go through.

changes are only saved when you hit ok or apply. that is the only time they are pushed to disk.
as for battle.net ... yea, that field is on the command editor, but it is not active (should have hidden it... missed it before pushing the release). it will be active on the next release and will save like the other fields.
