So im all set to start levling my new team question is what to level??? Here is what i want to accompish...

I want a team with a huge annoying factor for the other team. Horde on mysever seems to get raped in bgs but i figure i can make life hell for someone elese. So i plan to play @ the choke points and just letem have it!

Just playing 5 hunters and locks this is what i observed.

5 Dinos are REALLY REALLY funny.
Traps can be a blessing and a curse. when it comes to setting up these unless you know where your enemy is going to be heading this can be quite a pain in the ass
long range dmg skills Autoshot and a wide variety of skills that hinder the other team (but locks have this too and dont have to worry about ammo) *Im not counting soulshards as ammo seeing that everyone in my team can drain soul and get full pretty damn fast
Hunters have a few aoe skills
Warlocks are kings of Aoe with immolation aura, soc, and rain of fire these skills reduce a team to ashes
Warlocks are softer... Not sure if i actually agree with these as they will all be demo spec. that being said while their armor will be lower they more then seem to make up for it with their skills and talents

What elese am i missing here? what would be the advantage and disadvantage of each team? Please note I really do NOT want to make both teams

Thanks for reading and sharing your tales.

after reading all the skills and talents im really thinking about going towards Warlock so much amazing sauce!!! 5 affliction with a splash of demo (up to soul link) OMG I could just see where this could be a total nightmare for an arena team or BG.

If this really is your sole intent, then go with Warlocks.

Instant fear (talented) on rotation, both PBAoE and targeted AoE, pets, silences, omni-directional instant-cast DoTs on the run.... the list goes on. By far the most annoying type of team to bump into.

Obviously, fear and survivability in anything approaching a fair fight will be a huge problem but if you're happy to just pick yourself up and go again, that's not a show-stopper.

I have 4 hunters and a druid at level 80, and that's a great team until somebody gets in the middle of me. Traps, disengage and fear immunity (through the BM tree) all sound wonderful on paper but don't work quite so well in reality.

So, for all-round viability, hunters are probably the best choice but for your stated aims go with the Warlocks - you'll have a ball :)

I have both and agree with what Otlecs says Warlocks are the most annoying, players don't seem to notice DOT's anywhere near as much as Hunter spam, and panic much more with 5x5x5 corruption, agony and immolate on them.
Warlocks also get SoC which you can chain pump into the middle of a group for some very, very nasty AoE.
Teleport and rocket boots are something i'm looking forward to playing with when they arrive at the required levels.
So my opinion Warlocks will only get better to play.
Hope this helps. :)

That's actually almost the same as my 80 lock's Affliction spec. Good stuff. You gain TONS of life back from your affliction abilities, you take so much less damage, and you deal a ton of damage all at the same time with no added effort. :D

So 5 locks or 4 locks and a priest?

Im doing 5 locks.... As I already have a team that I do Heroics with so I dont have a huge want/need to do heroics.

I have some warlocks @ 69 and I've been playing around with all of the different specs and I find demon seems to be the best. In Pre-WoLK nothing beat affliction ( 25x dots can smoke anything if it lives long enough for you to get them all going )
the fel guard has a nice stun affect and the Master Conjuror is awsome.
the fire stone gives almost 4-5% crit chance and last an hour now.
I have a 30% crit rating with just blues from quest rewards and a few bosses at or before 69.
my level 70 destructo lock only has a 22% crit rating and he's relatively geared out with pre-WoLK purples.

I have been contimplating the exact same thing

I love Hunters almost as much as i love Warlocks

From my experience Hunters do have more survivability than warlocks but its mainly done via run shoot run kite wing clip trap etc etc etc

it works great but with slaves you cannot really control them well enough to pull this sort of annoyance off

thats where warlock slaves shine.

Tab Dot Tab Dot AoE fear Tab dot. through in SoC etc and gets pretty dam annoying fast
