View Full Version : Running into fellow boxers...

Having just started my shammy team on a server where I've only solo played before and have been on for four years, the last thing I expected was this. On Echo Isles in Durotar, where I am tasked with killing Zalazane and his minions, I did a double take when I looked over and saw a fellow boxer running a Pally and 4 shammies who was the same level as I.
Considering on this realm, Tanaris, I've only come across one boxer who was on the alliance side, the chances of this little run in seemed shockingly rare given that we both obviously created these new teams at the same time. Echo Isles was suddenly overwhelmed by a bunch of low level shamans all at once!
We laughed and chatted for awhile. I'm happy to say, I've made a new friend who I can relate to easier on the realm! Gotta love the boxing community!

I was playing my first 10 ever arena matches last week lol and around game 8 I came up against a boxer, amazing! He wiped the floor with me lol and managed to get an achievement for winning a round in each of the arenas, if it's anyone here then gratz!!!! I can't remember the names at all though. I haven't seen any other boxers horde side although I did have a discussion with someone whose name fails me now (Ooog?) while waiting for wg who said they had 3 chars on my realm.
Oh and happy news on those matches, I won 2 out of 10. Only because for some reason ppl think 1 tank and 1 druid are all that's needed in a 5v5 >.<

Though I am reluctant to admit this, I ran into my own team the other day, and for a brief moment I thought "Cool another boxer". Now the rest of the story..... I'd been taking them to do the underwater collection quest in Howling Fjord one at a time and forgot where I parked the rest, so when I came up on them I didn't even realize they were mine for a second or two and was wanting to talk to my fellow boxer until I realized it was my group. I'd say that was my biggest "doh" moment in all the years I've been playing wow. 8o

I had kind of an exciting, yet disappointing, encounter last night in Icecrown on Lightbringer US. I was flying into the tower to do the neutralizing cauldron daily, when I noticed there was an Alliance group already doing the quest. It took me a moment or two to figure it out because it was a mixed group, but I eventually realized, waitaminute, the dude's 5-boxing! The pally was the only one moving, everyone else was standing in cross formation and doing synchronized casts. I've run into dual boxers before, but seeing another 5-boxer was pretty special. I thought I was the only one on my server, on either faction.
But after /dancing at him while he finished his quest, he mounted up and flew away without so much as a /wave. I assume he just saw me off the corner of his screen, muttered "ah, Horde, hate those guys" and didn't give me a second thought. 'Twas too bad. I feel like I need to post on craigslist in Missed Connections, "I saw you in Mord'rethar, and you looked good in that plate. You kill plagued ghouls so well, I was just swept away on the holiness of your consecration ..." :)

I was doing 5s a week or two ago. I ran into many 5 boxing groups. At least 5 or 6 diffrent teams. They where:
4 Shammys 1 Pally (Dwarf Pally)
4 Shammys 1 Pally (Dreni Pally)
4 Locks 1 Druid
A mix team - Rogue, Warrior, Druid, Lock ... something else
5 Druid Team -
Now i know i am not a good PvP boxer at all, but i only lost one of those matches to the Dreni Pally. I have seen about 5 or 6 five boxers on my server. It is nice to see them around get tips or chat it up. I am a team of 5 Ele shammys on proudmore btw :-) all named Twyman, just used a diffrent "A" for the names.

Cheers Simulacra, close on the name. Good to see you on at a decent hour for once :P The last time I saw you was around midnight on one of those very, very rare nights I get to play.
Will have to arrange some time to try some 10 man content with our two crews (after I get my tax return I can probably afford to shift them around to separate accounts)

i cant believe this thread started :)
its friday here and its 6am. I think it was wednesday and I was on my hunter just tooling around. I flew into shat and ran into the inn for a sec, came out and made a left and was like OMG! I seen a formation of shammies and started to drool a bit. It took me all of 2 seconds to wisper the player and my first question to him was, " Are you on dual-boxing.com"? I got a quick reply with ya, im Clovine on there. We chatted for a min or two and i was on my way. I talked about it on vent to friends and family for the rest of the night. It was cool to see another boxer on the same server that wasnt chasing me to kill me. We have a horde hunter the boxes 4 and loves to play mop the floor with alliance.

On Illidan (US) hordeside, I've run into probably 3 boxers since I've been doing it. One of them stopped and talked to me, he was pretty cool. I added him, but haven't seen those toons on since. The others I've run into just ignored me...
I get a lot of "omg, that's awesome" or "way to go man" from random people, though. lol

I've only run into one fellow boxer on Shadowsong-US. I'm horde, he was alliance (he was 3x draenai shaman). Ran into him in Un'goro. I was AEing a large pack of tar beasts down, he ran a few laps around me with his follow train, /wave'ed, and then left.
I've run into alot of non-boxers that recognize the fact I'm boxing. Most say "that's so freakin awesome" or the likes, only one reported me. And another, a 35 pally, asked if I'd take him thru SM Cath with me and my boostees. I said "no prob". I even let him take all the loot, and considering I full-cleared the instance in < 5 mins I think he was pretty happy with the experience. He wanted to go again and again with me but I was logging for the night.

I've only run into one fellow boxer on Shadowsong-US.
I played on SS for a year, eventually transferred off there to Tanaris though. I did have a 3x mage team on there but scrapped them at level 22 when I knew I was transferring off the realm.

Not really sure if they're the same person or people, or each was a different team...
On US-Cenarius, alliance side, in the process of my RAF...
I leveled Shammies, Druids, Hunters and Priests, 1-60.
I ran into 3-5 boxers maybe a dozen different teams.
Actually had a 5-boxer create a team and do macro's at same time I was doing my Druid set up, they were making Druids too.
Also saw 2 or 3 non-flagged horde teams in that time.

There are a couple of us horde side on Illidan US. Myself running Druid/DK tank + 4 Elemental Shaman (Pawes + Kullt(s)). You have Zonito with 4 elemental shaman and also Sweetkill with 5 elemental shaman. We are all active and on quite a bit just at unusual hours... We share macros and UI set-up etc so send us a whisper in-game if you need anything. Also we are starting to team up for multiboxing 10 man content so let me know if you want in...

Often I'm also on Tue, Wed from 7pm for an hour 1/5 solid then my wife comes home lol and I'm back on at 10:30 :)
I'm busily farming hit gear for naxx since we had a chat as my team is geared for 5 mans so the hit is low. Can't wait for a naxx woo hoo!

I have several Alliance teams on Tanaris. They are all in my guild Team Shietz. My teams are 5 mages - 80, 5 hunters - 72, 5 shaman - 22, 5 druids 12. I also have an 80 pally i use as a tank for my mages and I am lvling a priest (65ish) as a healer for the pally/3mage team.
I get harassed a lot by non multi-boxers about being a multi-boxer, so if you see me and send me a tell start off with "I multi-box" or some other way becuase I don't always respond to tells.

I try not to bother others when I play so if I see another boxxer on my realms I usually say wassup.. and if they don't respond I just move on. Sometimes when I am out questing or whatever I switch over to my combat log and dont really have my chat up so I wind up missing whispers and stuff sometimes. I have met a few boxxers on the different realms I play on.
Edit: I swear.. lol ever have those moments where everything in your mind comes out in no sensible order.
I was surprised to see 1 boxer in my guild and we had naxx plans when our team reach 80 but he's not active anymore. Archimonde(Alliance)-I think and Magtheridon(Horde) where majority of boxers play.

Lol heya, I've spoken to you in game before on my ally. I've mostly played alliance on Tanaris till the last few months. Now I'm loving Horde and can't stand to go back to ally. But what if it was a boxing team of mages doing their mirror image spell? haha
My mages are 65 now. They're my next project to 80, I think. I can't wait to mess around with that.

I've five boxed on US Blade's Edge server horde side for a good long while. Haven't seen many other boxers there. There was a set of orc shaman once. There was also a set of ally shaman too. I haven't seen either set though for months and months. Now I've seen a few guys doing just dual boxing, most are raf'n it though. I'm the only active set of 80's doing heroics there that I have seen. I've been considering rolling on either Mag's or Blackrock as I've wanted to try pvp server out plus I know alot of you guys box there. I'd love to try 2x5 box naxx or something.

I play on a relatively low-pop server (Trollbane-US), however, I've seen 4 other multiboxers. One was a set of 4 druids, another was 5 DKs, and one other 1paly4shaman teams (pretty low level). In each of these cases, I wasn't multiboxing when I saw them.
The most memorable, though, was in wintergrasp. I hadn't played wow in a little while and decided to take the shaman in for some pvp. I'm going about my business when I see a LOT of red over in this corner. I look closer and realize that it's a lot of totems, which at first, I just assume is a couple of shaman running together until I actually see them and realize what's up.
He didn't see me, so I drop all my totems, first off a lightning bolt to absorb the grounding totems, and then start with the FS-LB-CL-LB-... . Two of this shaman were down before he really had time to react, then he ghostwolf's off.
I had a good chuckle about it because he looked pretty cocky over there in his corner dealing out the pain, but changed his tune pretty quick on the receiving end. Let's face it, we all have a little swagger. :)
I met him a couple more time and we had it out, pretty even. Usually came down to who had more totems down before the fight heh. Was definitely fun, and you should've seen the crowd.

I play on Spirestone-Horde and have only seen 1 boxer, we chatted for a bit on our set ups but I haven't seen him on in a few weeks. I get a lot of "wow that's cool"/"how do you do that?" whispers and an equal amount of "you're lame"/"you have no life"... /shrug
usually i will respond to /w if they are asking questions or want to know more about it. As for the haters... i dont waste the keystrokes to respond to them.

Hmm, see some Scilla and Mal'Ganis hordies. Perhaps we'll meet in AV as I'm ally on Archimonde. You'll also have to deal with the Nn's 5 shammies, Pandora's 4(5) pallies, Vyndree's hunters, and [IRQST]Box's shaman. I'll usually be on my 5 DKs Kaia until they are 80. Apologies if I got anyone's comps wrong.
There is a horde 5box Lock team, but I rarely see him.

I'm on Draenor, US, Alliance, guild is Cake or Death. I see teams once in a while - the latest I saw in Dalaran and at the Argent Tourney, I did'nt get the guild name but all the toons were variations of "DirkDiggler", all Tauren.
Draenor is pretty boxing friendly. I was out doing stuff, and a mage ran up to me, said "are you multiboxing?" My toons all said "Yes." I was mounted on my flying mounts, and he asked me to kill something so he could watch, so I swooped down and pwned a mob, he said, "that's cool! Gotta run!".
LOVE my server. :)
