Hello All.

I am new here and looking to get up to speed on 2boxing. I am going through the "A plea to all newcomers" thread and soaking as much up as possible before I start spamming everyone with questions but as the thread metions I am excited and impatient :)

BTW - All the guide to guide references v-boxing.net are not working for me, dns issues. Is the site working for others?

I plan to try 2boxing a new core 2 duo mac mini with 4 gigs ram. Given my intended setup is there some posts or paths I should read first?

Hello and welcome!

Firstly you'll want to think about your group makeup, what class(es) do you want to run

Second, you'll need to pick a keyboard/mouse broadcasting solution. The most popular ones among this sites users are hotkeynet (free), autohotkey (free), keyclone (paid), octopus (free? Not sure) and innerspace (paid). This transmits your keystrokes to your other wow windows so you don't have to alt-tab.

Then you'll want to get some info on macroing. Pretty much everything your #2 toon does will need to be done via macro to ensure proper targetting.

Third, you'll want to install and configure and learn to use Jamba. It will save you a TON of hassle in multiboxing.

Fourth, search for "interact with target" and find a thread detailing how to use it to command a slave to loot or interact with an NPC/flightmaster/questgiver/etc.

That's about it off the top of my head. Welcome to boxing!

Thanks for the reply. Lots of good info although some of its looks windows specific. I will be using a mac so I think my software solution needs to be cloneKeys which is free. I wonder if there is a PiP solution for macs.

Hi,

I am using Clone Keys as well, which works great for key-broadcasting, but I cannot for the life of me find a mac-friendly solution to mouse broadcasting aoe spells. I've searched the forums ad nauseam but all solutions bring me up against a windows brick wall, so to speak. Does anyone have a solution (other than tabbing out to slave characters to manually target the area) to this they might be able to share?

Thanks in advance.
