I'm 4boxing pallies and having a blast doing it. I realized that levelling changes a bit once RAF is gone, so I spent some time calculating a way to level up without the tedium. My goals:

1) Little to no tedium - no grinding rep, the same instances repeatedly, nor neverending questing. Absolutely NO COLLECT QUESTS.
2) Stay well geared throughout the levelling process.
3) No boosting (it's just not fun to me).
4) See a variety of instances and zones.
5) Get plenty of practice in instances to prepare for eventual Northrend heroics.

I just finished SM and am currently on the questing phase in the early 40's.

The numbers listed are the level target to try and achieve before leaving that area. Many times, I plan to just immediately leave a questing zone once I reach the level target (and will skip any unnecessary questing zones in favor of instances if I overestimate the XP needed). For the instances, I'll intend to do full clears and allow for 1-2 wipes, but if they become frustrating or too difficult I'll just move on. I try to hit the zones that have the instance quests before hitting those instances as much as possible, but doing all instance quests just isn't necessary IMO.

This isn't meant as a guide but more an overall path...I'm sharing mostly because I had fun thinking it through but also would be open to feedback on whether or not it would work out as a plan. Note I abhor Terrokar and BEM, so I skip them completely.

My choices are based on what I consider to be a relatively even mix of variety, challenge, gear collection and advancement. This is NOT intended for speed running. Italics is for questing and bold is for instances.

Edit: Discrepancy with levels toward end of Northrend fixed.
Edit2: Progress: I did most of Sunken Temple, though due to time constraints it took several sessions and I only finished up to and including Jammal'an before yesterday's patch cleared my progress. However, given that he and his cohort crumbled like a 3rd grader, I'm confident I could've completed the entire instance but don't want to work through all that trash again. I wouldn't box this instance in the future..it's simply too long and there's too much trash. Finished just shy of lvl 52, which matches up well with my estimates

Looks like a nice plan. the 1-70 grind should be fairly quick and you wouldnt have to spend more than or two in any zone. I like how you hit Northrend, Gear up a bit then go back and hit some 70 heroics. I would make the northrend dailies part of your run. They go so fast and provide a good chunk of xp for little time and it will help a lot when the leveling slows down and your stuck with all the crappy collection quests northrend does.

Nice list. Is it meant to be done with or without raf xp bonus?

Definitely meant to be done with RAF. I think I'd rather poke out my own eyes than run up another character without RAF ^^

@Starbuck: Which dailies are you referring to? Do you mean the Grizzly Hills PvP?

I couldn't stomach the idea of grinding a fresh team to 80 alone.

That's one reason I went with a mixed team as my lock was already level 70 (team started pre WotLK). I started four fresh toons and used the lock to instance boost (all pre RAF) and then assist the team in questing. Once the entire team was near 70, I grouped 'em up and did the grind through WotLK.

So, if you have access to a geared level 80 on a fifth account you can make things MUCH easier. If not, looks like you have a pretty well thought-out plan.

There is the Drake Harpoon Daily by the Nexus, Then the drop bombs on pirates and shoot gargoyles in Howling fjord. Once the Grizzly Hills unlock there are 3 up north at bluesky logging, one in the middle and 3 at venture bay that take no time at all to do. That gives you 10 dailies for about +200,000xp that should not take very long to do if you have your epic land mounts and even faster once you get cold weather flying. I would prolly quit doing the nexus one though once grizzly hills opens up because its on the far side of the world compared to the other 9.
