Fastest Leveling

Planning to take the plunge and start leveling groups for a 10 man team. I already have a lvl 80 dk and lvl 70 hunter, and some mid-level chars that, withe the bonus levels from RAF, will mean I can get 10 chars to 60 with just lvling 5 RAF toons.

My question is, which would be quicker-boosting or using the multiboxing leveling guide I saw here? My dk is tank specced and with frost presence/blood spec can easily solo all the way through ramps (highest instance I've tried without a healer), so boosting wouldn't be a problem for me. If the answer is that boosting is fastest, I'll probably level 8 RAF chars since I'd have to split them into 2 groups of 4 anyway, with the fifth slot being the dk.

Is there any reason you can not use two RAF'd account sets with the leveling guide and use the DK to boost em through it? That would probably be hands down the fastest unless you are trying to level all 5 characters at once.

Wait...you're suggesting using the guide to quest and having the dk help them quest instead of running them through instances?

That wouldn't be any faster. If you have a 5 man team and you are questing you are going to 1 or 2 shot anything anyway. There's no need to use an 80, it wouldn't speed it up at all. 99% of the time spent quest leveling is running between places or looting things for collection quests. Your fastest way would be to use your 80 to boost in instances. Since you can only boost 4 at a time you may have to do multiple groups depending on how many you still need.

With my DK I can boost from 1-60 in 6 hours if I don't dick around and AFK while I'm logged in. It'd be ridiculously faster to boost three sets of four than hand level two sets of 5.

Wow, 6 hours to 60 eh? I would def not mind a list of instances to drag people through to be able to do that :) IS the general idea 'as soon as a higher level instance becomes available, do it'?

1-10 Hand Grind
10-15 Wailing Caverns
15-20 RFK
20-35 SM Cath + Armory
35-45 ZF
45-55 LBRS
55-60 Ramparts

Questing and WC are self explanatory. RFK you can go straight to the last boss, drop off the ledge behind her, and then kill boars all the way to the zone and reset. With my DK I can clear all of Cath and Armory in about 8 minutes, so I usually take a break for a few minutes so I don't cap the instance per hour. For ZF also you can make a huge circle and kill mobs the whole way. LBRS I zone in and move down to the first area where you see the ogres on your right. I jump down to the lava area and then clear up back to the entrance from there. Ramparts is the same where you can do the whole zone in under 10 minutes, including bosses.

I should clarify.

7 hours and about 12 minutes is my fastest RAF boost time from 1-60, but that included a Warlock summon chain so that it was pure instancing the whole way with no training or running around. That includes the 1-10 by hand, which takes an hour or so. I could probably shave a half hour off of that time if I ran my DK and had someone else MB the alts so I didn't have to worry about them.

Despite optimal conditions or not, I think the community in general here could benefit from a set of vids showing a single run through each of the dungeons. The server I am on I could make a 58 DK, I assume you are using a level 80DK with some nice gear?

My problem is I do not want to waste RAF time getting to 80 so I will be looking to get one of each character type to 60 before this ends.

I don't even get the chance to use Pestilence to spread diseases until I hit LBRS. The key is keeping up Unholy Blight so you tag each mob and the pet will do a lot of the work. Once you hit LBRS you can round up a bunch and give them one disease, then hit a fresh mob and spread the other one. One disease is enough to kill any of the mobs there, but it does go faster if you can get both going.

A 58 DK would be able to do up through SM quite quickly. That's enough to boost to level 44 or so and would be much faster than hand grinding.

Edit: I think the only video I could do that'd be helpful would be LBRS to be honest. The rest of them are self explanatory. Is that something you'd want to see?

Honestly I am a bit needy and will take anything you are willing to do.

My personal experience is very limited in instances as both pre and post multiboxing I am a solo player the huge majority of the time. My instance experience pretty much stops at Gnomer/SM (level 40ish) with the exception of Ramps in outlands.. I can get insanely busy with very short notice some times and have to vanish for a month or three (Its amazing how pissy some people can get when a game doesn't release on time :))... Raiding guilds are generally not very accepting of people just going POOF for a while :)

So yeah, long story short (shut it :P), I would love em all just cause half of em I have never seen the inside of despite having played WoW since it originally came out. How to do it and how to boost it, all very good information to me. So whatever you are willing to do would be helpful to me, and I hope others as well.

You can see my instance lineup in a previous post. My only tip is to make sure you have at least 2 healers on each team that you RAF up. In LBRS and Ramparts my DK needs a heal every other pull or so, depending on how many mobs I round up.

I would quest, until you can enter a low dungeon.
Once you can enter Wailing Caverns or Deadmines, dungeon boosting will be faster then quest boosting.

An AoE class will beat a non-AoE class.
Tanking AoE class can do massive pulls.

Anyone have ideas for level up after level 60+?

I make ramparts 60-63, questing to 65 and try UK. But it gives only ~20% per run. And run make ~40 minuts. So, it's very long. A level with quests takes me ~3 hours.

A leveling guide for multi-boxing exist for 60-70 or 60-80? I use Brian Kopp leveling guide to help me, but this guide include collect quests, and it's boring...

I leveled to 80 solely by grinding out the instances. I cleared almost every BC 5 man. At 68 I did a few of the starter quests in northrend just to get the gear. I then cleared every wrath instance on my way to 80. This works out good because once you hit 80 you already know how to run all the instances and will be geared good enough for heroics without having to buy stuff. I cleared heroic HoL within an hour of hitting 80 with zero wipes.

If you are a little more hardcore than me with how much time you play and only play 1 team you might want to do quests when you aren't rested. But I really hate questing. You can also pvp after 3.2 comes out for some xp/honor.

3.2 is a good patch for boxing. Mounts cost less, gain XP in PVP, ...

I need this patch, I wait to buy my epic mount and fly mount... and I'm level 66 XD

I have both DK and Paladin @ 80 who alternately instance boosted all my 5 accounts. DK (used blood spec for extra heals) really killed the entire pull insanely faster than Paladin but the only problem that I had was the 5 instance per hour limit.

lvl 1-10 will only take you less than an hour if you're just going to do slay quest starting from Durator until Brill

My lvl 10-60 instance list was somehow different and it didn't took me only 7hrs of playing (not total character played time) so I wanna try that list to see for myself when I purchase my next 5 account.

I would recommend instance boosting from 10-60 if you are in a PVP server because lvl 80 morons will just one shot your lowbies while questing.

At first you were going so fast that I didn't realize that your toons were actually on follow. I thought to myself "yeah... but where does he leave them... he says he does, but I don't see them". I am in SM with my duo right now (just leveled in last night).

Next, I am going to ask the question that EVERY SINGLE PERSON who uploads a video hears.... what addons are you using? More specifically, is the addon that shows your party frames like that? It looks like Xpearl (which I have), so maybe I just need to configure it better... but I REALLY like the way you have your UI laid out.

Yeah, I would like to second that, you have a really nice view but it almost seems like your camera is zoomed out farther than I can get mine, nice top down view but nice angle forward still.. Very good setup.. I got around to watching the entire video today during breakfast (Read 3:30pm :)) and just setteled on finally getting a max level character cause what ya did was kewl. Before I multiboxed I spent alot of time running low levels through instances already, would be nice to be able to do it again on a limited basis.. With my current group of shaman almost to level 60 its time for me to start deciding on what my next set will be. and maybe some boosting will be involved this time around.. Kinda iffy if I want to do it as I would then have to level one account solo since in retrospec I maybe should have done my RAFing different so I could do two accounts on the boosting account so after I was done boosting I could just insta a 60 of the same class I just boosted.. Hind sight being 20 20 and all that.
