Is there a way to buy your totems or do you have to do the quests? I spent a good 3 hours yesterday running around unfamiliar space goat zones getting my newly 60 shaman their totem quests. I still have not finished the water totem yet as the running all over hell and back just made me quit in disgust. Where do you go to get them if you deleted them?
I only leveled 2 shaman and these are the first time I have, I don't see myself ever leveling a toon again like this if your forced to into these quests.

Can't delete em.
Don't get core spells if you don't do them.
Waters the worst, air is like "Oh you want an air totem, here ya go".

You don't have to do the quest if you can find the relics on the AH. however I do suggest the water totem quest is a must since it provides you with the healing stream spell. The 3 other quests just give you a totem. I think one of them gives you a fire spell but it's one I rarely every use so I didn't think it was worth it.
Yeah the water totem quest for the space goats suck. but it isn't too bad compared to the horde.. Well actually they are both pretty similiar so yeah they are horrible.. lol.
Edit: Yeah once you get them you cant delete them so just do the water quest and look for a cheap relic in the AH if you can find one. What I did was farm Dire Maul Arena for the totem of the Storm or whatever its called. adds 33 spell power to your lightning bolt and chain lightning. I just had to do the water totem quest to get my healing stream spell.
Edit: ehh.. you might want to pick up the earth totem for stoneskin but it's your call. Its the first quest out of the starting area so you might as well.

just do them.. the totems help out a lot as you start to do instances and pvp.. just take the time to get the totems only took me a hour or 2 with mounts..

I think it highly depends on how you leveled your shaman. if you're questing then getting the totem quests done ASAP is a must since their utility is a must when questing. If you boosted your toons to 60 where they don't really need them then going back and redoing them isn't totally a necessity. After leveling 13 shaman doing the class quests really does become a bother. I also don't like wasting bag space so 4 totems sitting in my bank using up space sucks. They need to make them deletable.
Buying up a relic that acts as all those totems is nice. Getting the water totem is a must. Healing stream totem offers too much utility to pass up. Stoneskin and Fire Nova?? (i think) is meh.

If your on RAF the xp from them is pretty decent.

I ran them from 1-60 in about 15 hours of RAF, so they are still in their nooby clothes. This is the first time ive played space goats so that entire area was unfamiliar. The xp is decent so far from doing the first 3 and most of the water one they are at 45% to 61. I wanted to crank out the totems before moving to outlands.

I just completed my shamans to 60 via RAF. Took about 16/17 hours.
Totem Quests = 4 Hours! /cry
Blizzard I hate you! /LOL
Horde it horrible. Since they where Instance RAF I had 0 Flight Paths and had to run around everywhere to get the Water totem. :thumbdown:

Every time I do that I wonder if Blizzard either ran out of time or imagination for that one.

Fire I believe is going into the cave for a semi-rare drop.
It has been as easy as the first kill for shammy #1.
And I believe on my current team it was 5 hours later for the last shammy.
Took a few breaks but that is /played time, which just sucked.
There's a bit of running back and forth as well to the underwater guy.
Air is run up a hill, talk to someone and with a buff, float off, done.
Earth was very simple. Run to a spot and kill things.
Help the elemental out or some such.
Possibly I am mixing fire and earth up.
Water was the pain in the ass.
You had to run all over the place, including Ashenvale to some lake.
Still, you want water totems.
If you can just use a "relic" and that is good enough.
The easiest relic is in Hellfire Peninsula, from the Cenarion Expedition guys.
South of the area with the big red giants that split into little guys.
They give you a quest to kill the big red giants.
And then to cleanse the area or some such.
You summon a named guy which was very easy to kill.
Took more effort to clear the area then him.
Then see I believe Parthenon the Calculator, same as Lich King appears in Northrend.
Anyway, really easy to do, and you get a Relic (or Libram on Pallies) as a reward.
The original totems cannot be destroyed, once acquired.
Best you can do is bank them. Shammies have 3-4 fewer bank slots then every other class.

You are complaining about the drani totem quest? Sorry I do not mean to be rude but shut up :) that quest is so easy and gives so much gold its insane. Try doing the horde quest and you will never ever complain again. That quest took me a few min, the horde version is like 4 hours of running back and forth.
