I've cleared HGrundrak, HDTK,HUK - so basically the simpler heroics and I thought I was pretty good lol. So I went to normal HoL to get the tank trinket "seal of the pantheon" which dropped btw woo hoo! and found all bosses cake except for that Ionar bstard. I went there on heroic a few weeks ago and wiped on him so I thought I'd be pretty leet going in on normal - not so. I didn't wipe but it was close and I lost a shammy. So I'm think how the hell am I going to do this on heroic if I have trouble with normal? I followed hachoos example and placed the shammies in a square formation by the pillars and spammed chain heal throughout the fight, when I COULD dps he has copping it pretty bad but the change over to those lightning balls happens so often that I spend all the time healing. Anyway no wipes is good. So anyone have some tips for this boss on heroic for a pally and 4 ele shammies? I'm more than willing to respec one as resto. I was thinking maybe I could pop out an earth ele when the lightning balls appear and heal him.....thoughts?

I just put up a video on how I do this guy. It should be even easier for you with 4x shamans. Just arrange you team spread out how I do or any other way you prefer and use 4x healing stream and a nature resist totem. Make sure you move your tank away soon as he disperses and when he come back together so you dont eat all of the sparks at the same time.
Heroic HoL Ionar easy tank and spank method ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=22965')

you could try the key bind to run them all away from him in different directions so the druid can heal them seperately. I tried this and didnt have much luck though. He kept throwing a knockback at my druid... was too much damage to keep up with.

I've only done Ionar with my lock team, but found that once you get it the rhythm (and it definitely takes practice), he's cake. It's all about: 1) keep DPS and healer spread out so the static discharge only hurts one toon, and be ready to hit that toon with a big heal; 2) when you see Ionar start casting Disperse, run the tank back down the stairs and pick up the rest of the party on the way, and stay out of the electricity 'til he reforms. This last point takes some discipline because it's easy to charge forward before the electricity is fully gone, for the sake of getting back into position. Be patient and stay well away 'til it's safe.
I'd run Ionar with my druids to make sure I'm not just imagining that it's just a gimmick fight ... but they can't get through Bjarngrim so I can't prove it. :)

A bit late on the reply here, but if it actually matters to you at all you can skip the General by killing all the trash once he walks away and run through before he gets all the way back (going left is the shortest route and least trash). Then Volkhan should be the easiest boss for any group composition (including all melee).

woo hoo! did the heroic HoL last night  and also got the achievement of killing the boss in under 2 mins, he was down in 1min 37 seconds. I ran with 1 shammy as resto for all the boss fights except the last where I switched it back to ele as I didn't seem to have enough dps which caused a wipe. So on Ionar I went with Smoooth's suggestion and left my shammies in place and let them chain heal through the sparks while the pally ran off and healed herself, it took 2 goes and the final boss 2 goes. Pretty happy :D and it was the daily as well ha ha! For a bit of extra security I put Scrolls of Stamina VIII on everyone as well.
