ok Here is the deal. I am interested in 5 boxing. I have 2 monitors and have the accounts and stuff i also have key clone. Before i actually get started i was wondering about how i would do a few things
how do i make it so that my characters can cast spells. For example i want my pally to do holy light and my warlock to do coruption. is there a way i can click on one in one pane then the second in another pane?
do my characters all have to be the same class.
can someone make a step by step guide
also what is a good 5 man class setup -thanks

howdy Thelolas and welcome to the forums!
first, you should probably update to keyclone's latest alpha (link ('http://solidice.com/keyclone/wifeagro') ), this will make setting up the maximizer easier.
as for synchronized targeting, right-click the keyclone tooltray icon and follow the FAQ submenu. the last option will bring you to a page for /focus based macros. if you are new to wow macros, go with the basic setup for now... and when you get to 15 or 20, check the /focus stuff again (that way the general understanding of multiboxing will be second nature and you can focus on learning wow macros)
and no, you do not have to run all the same class. it's entirely up to you. keep in mind, with every new class you are basically coordinating the keys for another keyboard. 2 classes at once isn't too bad, but the complexity goes up from there. i would recommend starting with shammies as they are fairly durable and are casters (with a touch of melee thrown in... i like to whack the target after a good earth shock :D )
of course, 5x mages is just fun... since you kill everything so fast. (don't forget arcane explosion x 5)
if you have any other questions, please feel free to drop me a note.
have a great night and welcome to t he addiction,

For a first time boxer, 5-boxing, I'd suggest going with one of these group makeups:
- 5x Elemental Shaman.
- 4x Elemental Shaman + 1x Paladin (Ret 1-39, Prot 40+)
- 5x Balance Druids.
All the same class is a lot easier to run, then a mixed group.
If you'd prefer a mixed group, that will definitely work, just be a tad harder to set up your macro's.
The easiest way to set up is to use focus.
Keyclone has a Picture in Picture, swap ability in the Maximizer section.
You can set a keybind which will bring that specific window to the forefront.
In warcraft I'd bind a switch macro to the same keybind for each toon.
If your window (keyclone maximizer) binds are: Control F1, Control F2, Control F3, Control F4 and Control F5.
Have every toon with a macro keybound to Control F1.
This macro will be:
/Focus Toon A
Substitute for Toon A, the name of the character that runs on the warcraft in window 1.
Repeat the process for Toon B, so control F2 brings that client to the active window and has all toons make that character their focus.
Now when you're in game, you can switch to any account via the Keyclone PiP keys.
Doing so brings that warcraft client to the front, and has all characters set that toon to their focus.
Any toon can lead as easily as any other.
Your dps macro's will be - to the effect of:
/cast [target=focustarget] Lightning Bolt
In the place of Lightning Bolt, you can do Shadow Bolt or Curse of Agony.
You'll also need a follow key, which all toons will have on the same keybinding.
The macro will look like this:
/follow focus
To make a wow macro, within game type /macro
Name it something you'll remember. Pick an icon. I like the Red Questionmark (Top Left) for macro's that use wow spells.
You can preface spell/ability macro's with:
#showtooltip
/cast [target=focustarget] Wrath
#show
/cast [target=focustarget] Fireball
#show will show the correct icon of the spell, if you use the red question mark.
#showtooltip will do the same, but provide the in-game tooltip on a mouse over.
Using the red question mark and #show (or #showtooltip) and, the correct spell will show for each spell in the sequence:
#show
/castsequence [target=focustarget] Immolate, Curse of Agony, Corruption, Shadow Bolt
Check out the wiki's and the forum sticky's.
Ask questions if you have any.
