Howdy folks,

Wondering if any of you folks rock out on the guitar.

Briefly, my musical history:

March 09: Purchased a guitar (its An ESP-LTD F400 I believe) and had lessons lined up. Took lessons for about 1.5 months but ended up not jiving well with the teacher and so I stopped going. Kind of let the guitar slip until... now. Wanting to pick it up and try to start again.

I listen to mostly heavy metal / hard rock type stuff (my two favorite bands are Metallica and Queens of the Stone Age) so would love to eventually be able to play music like that.

I have some books, starting chord progressions to work on, how to practice etc. Wondered if anybody else had any other nuggets of wisdom.

Thanks.

thats cool! Once you get better at the guitar it is very fun! First, just start with some basic chords and move on to some scales. And then you should also learn some basic strum patterns and I feel that I progress at playing the guitar when i learn new songs. Just make sure you have rythm!

PS i srsly dont think I just made sense. but i hope its good enough for you to read it
