(This is copied from the MMORPG forums as there was not enough traffic there to warrant a response. Sorry for the double post!)

Good afternoon everyone!
I have a question about dual boxing with Recruit a Friend. I have seen numerous different answers to this question on the WoW forums, and a few random websites via Google search.

Account A has Character A80, level 80.
Account B is a new recruited account, linked from Account A. It has Character B1, level 1. ***(It also has Character B30, level 30.)***
Account C is a newer new recruit account, linked from Account B. It has Character C1, level 1.

If I play with Character B1 and Character C1, I will receive a triple exp bonus, because Account B recruited Account C.
If I get Character B1 and Character C1 to level 60, how many "grant a levels" do I get?
Character C1 should be able to grant 30 levels to Account B - say, to get Character B30 to level 60.
Can I then take Character B30 (now level 60 due to these gifted levels), and grant 30 levels to someone on Account A? And Can I gift 30 levels from Character B1 (now level 60 due to standard leveling with Character C1) to someone on Account A?

Thanks very much,
Row199

29 granted levels, cause you gained 59 from 1 to 60. You get 1 granted level per 2 levels gained.

Character C1 should be able to grant 30 levels to Account B - say, to get Character B30 to level 60.
B30 should get another level if he wants to ding 60 from granted levels.

Yes (only 29 levels though), you can grant levels with levels gained from granted levels. (hope you are with me;)

And Can I gift 30 levels from Character B1 (now level 60 due to standard leveling with Character C1) to someone on Account A?
Yep, another 29 free levels for account A.

When I've RAFed, I've leveled 3 teams to 60, and 3 or 4 to 31. That's been a lot of lvl 60 toons on the accounts at the beginning of the RAF chain.

Ah alright, so I should get my stationary toons to 31 to maximize the benefit (getting to 60). I will get em to 31 and 19 bubbles.
Yeah it is weird, I have seen a bunch of different references saying that you can grant 29 levels vs. 30 levels, and a bunch of different references saying that when you chain RaF accounts, the upper level chains break.
Example: Account A RaFs Account B. Account B RaFs Account C. Now, A and B are no longer linked.

So, this is NOT the case?

Thanks,

Nope, don't trust anything you read on the official WoW forums. It's quite fun to read those RAF threads though... "You lose the option to grant levels if you ding 60" and stuff like that...

I had my wife invite A, A invited B and B invited C. My wife has all her low level toon at 60 now, mostly just with granted levels.

Going from 1-60 gives you 30 granted levels, not 29.

Weird, I did it back when RAF was kinda new, and none of my lvl 60 chars (x17) could grant more than 29 levels (and I thought it's kinda logical, cause you don't really "gain" the very first level). So either they've changed that or somethings fishy.

This maximum value was increased to 30 with the launch of Patch 3.0.8.

Ahh, I see, so I stand corrected and demand 34 more levels to grant! ;)

But that assumes you can level 1-80 in 90 days or less. I had level 60s that could only grant 29 levels. Could you let us know where you got this info? If its true I would like to know what exactly changed. Did they change the first level you gain a grant to level 2 from level 3 or did they give you a grant at level 60 along with the one you get at 59?

I don't see anything the patchnotes for 3.0.8.

I did most of my RAF after 3.0.8 released and was only able to grant 29 levels per Character.

And 59 ( the number of levels gained ) divided by 2 is still 29.

So I am thinking the most you can do is 29.
