Hello Guys,

I am sorry if this is a duplicate post, if it is, just spank me, and dont go easy on me.

I just hit 80 last night on my group of mages. so I am running a 5 box 80 mage team. I am not sure if there is anyone else running a purely mage team, but honestly I do see some viability here in the arena. The burst I have is all instant cast spells, combined with aoe and 5X silence, i can put out some hefty damage.

Plus, at the start of the match, 5x invis followed by 5X mirror image, causes quite the confusion for the other team.

I just played my first ranked arena match, and i have to say when i popped out of invis by using mirror image and they saw 30 mages all of a sudden, i could tell they had no clue wtf was going on. It lead to me one shotting their team one by one.

Now normally, I tab to target, because clicking on the players body is just not effecient when in a heated pvp battle.

Tabbing to target has its drawback because sometimes you target a pet, sometimes two in a row, before you target another player, so you thus wasted 1.5 or so seconds just getting to the next target.

My question is are there any addons that list the other teams names in a box, so i can simply click their name in the box to target them? Or any other more effecient methods of handling targeting?

Anyway I am looking forward to everyone's responses. I don't know how viable this team will be at the higher ratings, but I am willing to do my best to push them to their limit.

Also I have no healer, no extra person, it is just me and 5x mages (not like some group setups, with 4x multiboxer +1 outside healer), i am relying heavily on confusion from 5x mirror image, mixed with heavy burst of deep arcane spec. And here is the screenshot of my first arena, being my first win ;)

and lastly here is another screenshot of my mage army.

I gave some long thought about doing this setup as a team once, I guess it would be really awsome, when you leveled could u solo the WOTLK instances? Also, when you just stepped into the arenas how was ur gear? it sounded like right after u hit 80, but im guessing after BG grind. One way to target is to have a addon proximo, where the names are all there, and you can click on them, but i believe there is a way to like tab through them.

No I could not do instances at all, I could do some trash mobs, but even then I was having to pop invis or ice block to avoid deaths and reset aggro on certain toons on each pull.

I Just hit 80 last night, so my first arena match was within hours of hitting 80.

As you can see from my team name - "I have no epics" my gear is of horrible quality atm, I had enough honor saved up to buy one item - The Deadly Gladiator's Pendant of Dominance (neck piece).

Other than that all I am using is blue lvl 78 frostsavage set, which does have some resil on it but nothing like the 80 epics.

Anyway can you provide any advice to the question regarding an addon that will make targeting more efficient than tabbing or trying to click on a player mid combat? I always have used tab up until now, on the rare occasion clicking on a specific target if he was high threat to me. But in the arean I am trying to avoid the delay i get from tab targetting and having to cycle through pets.

Thanks! -- Joe

Gladius is the addon of choice for arena enemy frames. Shows trinket status, health/mana, and a cast bar for each of the 5 enemies. Also, there are keybinding options available for gladius that allow you to targetenemy 1,2,3,4,5 and also set /focus to enemies 1,2,3,4, or 5. Might wanna check it out.

It looks like that first team you fought was another boxer, at least the three dk's. Your team sounds like alot of fun. Keep us up to date on your progress.

My Gladius bugs out quite often, if either team hits bloodlust there's a good chance it will show all 5 targets as shaman with some crazy flickering effect, and none of them can be clicked. It's been doing that since it was Proximo.... anyone else get that?

The invis at the start works well and all until the other team has a warlock and their entire team is buffed with "See Invis", then you go uh oh!
