So I'm minding my own business, doing my Grizzly Hills PvP dailys (keep in mind I play on a PvE server), when all of a sudden one of my Shamen get sapped. I stop and look around just in time to see the Rogue go invis. I drop some totems and wait. Nothing. I continue about my business, and as soon as I get into combat with an NPC, he pops up right in the middle of my group and starts attacking a Shaman. Well I immediately hit my Thunderstrike macro followed my Flame Shock. Well he was dead in less than 2 seconds. I got a chuckle out of it, and continued about my business. A few minutes later, I get this message:

I love how he gets so pissed when HE was the one who started the fight. I have NEVER started a fight with anyone working on the Grizzly Hills dailys.

It's funny in a way.

If you're playing 5 toons or are playing 1 toon with four friends.
In either case a single opposite faction toon picks a fight.
What does he expect, the four other toons to sit back and do nothing?

I would have reported the language he choose to use.
That he wants to make a level 1 and complain is funny too, its a compliment to you.
But the language is wrong.

i love how they always go for the lonely virgin nerd angle...They attack on the level where it would hurt *them* - they're probably a lonely nerd virgin themselves, so they go for what they know.

If you go by data like the pictures of Blizzcon and other gaming events, odds are I'm right. :)

it's even funnier if you block all whispers from characters under a certain level.. like level 3 or 5.
this would make him take the time to level up a bit, just to nerd rage at you

hehehehe

You can use an addon, but the only one I've come across is SpamMeNot on Curse.com. Unfortunately it's not up to date according to the addon button on the character login screen. Not sure if this one will be up much longer anyway, so if anyone has an alternative to this, I would greatly appreciate it too. As to anyone who wants to stoop this low and insult you with this kind of language, it deserves a report by each toon you are running, and yes, it can be done and they will get the penalty from each report. So what if they create a new toon, then as soon as you go to report them, they log then delete it. All you have to do is scroll back through your 'Combat' channel and find their name and report that instead. They'd just be screwing themselfs over in the long run.

I guess this is the advantage of playing on a PvP server. They would have to have a second account also just to make a lvl 1 to rage at you. And non of them live with their parents so they obviously can't afford more than one subscription. <sarcasm since sarcasm doesn't alway work in text

I do those dailies....well..daily, on a PvE server.

And I always absolutely grief the hell out of any unfortunate horde toon who attempts to do the quests at the same time.

It is a pvp "zone" on a PvE server.

Funny as hell on a carebear server. People dont know wtf is happening when a 5 box crew comes at you like a spidermonkey :P

"botting", "never see a girl", "mom's basement", wait... child rape? That's a new one. He must have been so pissed he just started throwing whatever came to mind. I can just imagine that when he saw the multiboxer, he was thinking "aw yeah, gonna show this scrub how it's done." Muahahahaaaaa

roflmao, has a second account to insult you. That's what's sad.

Grats! Haters hate, and haters die.

It really would be funny if you could auto-block tells from level 1s. The thought of this guy furiously killing boars in order to send an angry tell is awesome.

I tried this addon a while ago, but it didn't have a feature to allow guild members or friends, since there are bank alts to consider as well. I still don't see a way to override the level setting from the screenshot (maybe there is something in the GUI itself?).

Probably doesn't matter to most people, but just thought I'd throw this out here anyways.

so you'd want an exception list. that should be simple for the dev to add. i'd recommend trying to get the suggestion to the dev.

omg is keyclone promoting someone else's software????!!??!?!

:)

I used SpamMeNot back when the gold spammers were being a gigantic pain in the ass. I was just thinking that it'd be cool for the game to have it as a built-in function, where you can set a level and not receive whispers, unless the sender was in your group, guild, or friend's list. Since I'm on a PvE server and also avoid PvP almost always, I'm not likely to be harassed in game. In fact, since I came back the reception has been positive except for one occasion, and even that was just someone making one statement and nothing more.

When your suggesting new feature, how about asking it return a tell to the sender saying that the tell was block because the receiver is set to block tells from characters that are below level X. And for X send the level of the sender + 1. So if he uses a level 2 character to wine with, it will send a tell in response the tells are blocked to level 3.

In this case I may not want it to actually block the tell, I what to see how frustrated he gets as he starts leveling his toon.

I guess I should've caught that in previous posts *doh* - That idea is still foreign to me, I've been on a pvp server since day 1. I suppose PvE would definitely be easier for boxing, though.

Worth a shot. I really didn't think much about it in the past because it was around the same time they announced that it was unlikely to be supported much longer. Appears that they are supporting it again, although the Devs are still not playing WoW anymore.

EDIT: Read further in lans83's post below this one for more details.

I've been trying this addon for the past couple days now. Downside is, I have to click the box to load outdated addons. This in turn causes me some more problems because this addon is not fully supported by the current version, I keep getting constant UI error messages popping up which I have no idea what they are saying, but I know they are due to SpamMeNot. Another problem is this addon, while enabled, will not let me shift+click on a character's name in the chat channels to see their details, like who they are, what lvl, and where they are. I suppose I could try pulling up the 'Who' panel and look them up that way, but most people on my server keep putting those special characters in their name, so sometimes it's hard to read which ones they are and shift+clicking their names are easier. So please mention this to the devs if you do contact them. The 'Open GUI' menu in there is only a list of names that the addon blocks so you can select each one and read what the message says and also select whether the person is safe or not to allow thru the filter.

I try to keep this up on my alts and have the level filter raised up to level 5. This will surely get them pissed off even more :D I'd also like to be able to add my own personal message to send to the people that this lovely addon blocks. Such as:

"I'm sorry, but (your toon's name) is not accepting whispers from people who can not actually appreciate the love of playing a video game anymore. Instead you are either a gold farmer or someone who's just been ganked. Pls play this game or leave it. Have a lovely day :D"

It might hit the chat limit, but something along those lines. End it with a smile cause that I've been told pisses people off when they try to get you angry. Just smile and say it in a cheerful manor. I deal with drunks at work and that's pissed a few off from time to time. :D
