Fail like I do

To Otlecs. I read your post about not posting stuff that would recieve the end all awnser of.....WOW WIKI!!!!! I am sure that these topics have been covered somewhere in this massive forum but after 3 hours I cant find the awnsers I am in search of. I have learned much from this site and others over the last year or so of actually learning more about wow. I have been 2 boxing for several months now pretty successful and have used the RAF. I have 2 monitors and can run one on each screen or just alt tab on main screen. I have a few questions anyways.

But First I gotta explain my name. So everyone knows the "saftey Dance" in Naxx.... Lets say I dont have that Achievment. So when my guild first got to naxx we failed horribly at this. I was always the first to die. And i mean everytime... worst thing is it seemed contagious. Noone would ever die befor me no matter how long I was able to live. So we did it one week and I got killed at the very last explosion of the last dance. And I swear all but one other dps died within 2 secs of me. We were discussing how much I fail, and I asked the only remaining dps "can't you fail like I do?" I am a huge music fan and have a very eclectic taste.... think Filter/Crystal Method "Trip Like I Do" except replace trip with fail. (I would love to have an actual clip of the song altered to say that so I could spam it in vent when I die LOL.

Ok anyways. As I said I run 2 monitors. On a single pretty good video card.... NOT great. ATI Radeon X1650 512MB. I dont remimber any of the clock speeds or anything. I think I originally payed like $160 or so for it. My comp runs XP Pro with a 3.2ghx P4, 4GB ram, 10k rpm hard drive, and really nice 500 watt PS. I built it. Temps never go up as it has an intake fan from case through PS and out the back, a top and rear exhaust and a really nice CPU heat sink/fan, and I keep one side of the case open. The dual monitor is relitively new. I notice that I get low FPS when I am running my 2nd monitor, regardless of whats on it. I can have nothing on it at all or a 2nd window of wow on it. Either way my FPS drops. When running 2 windows of wow, my latency stays good but FPS drops bad, still playable but down at about 20fps if not under. Makes the terrain chopy and can lead to the following toon slowly getting further and further behind. I have been thinking of investing in a 2nd inexpensive Video card to power the 2nd screen but my mother board only has 1 PCIexpress slot. I have a PCI slot I can use but I do not hear good things about it and my options for PCI cards are limited. I was thinking I could invest like $100 in a card for the 2nd screen and improve my fps at least on my main screen. Thoughts? Might it be better to try to overclock my existing GPU, or just invest in a better single card? My best case scinario budget could only be about $200.

On a 2nd note I often read about keyclone on the forums here. It seems like an awsome program but just not something I would need. I do not 5 box and i dont even 2 box that often. Mostly I put my wifes toon on follow when she is not around and I feel like leveling us. I read something today that changed my thinking about keyclone. Would it be worth getting to do nothing more than set up a very few macros like to make both toons mount, make 1 or the other mount, make my wifes druid target me or other party member and cast a heal with 1 designated key binding. These are things I thought of. Or even just 1 click to tell her toon to follow me. Thoughts/advice on this? Anything I am not seeing?

On the topic of keyclone I saw something interesting tonight on these forums.... whisper commands or casting?!?!? Not sure that it exists but it led me to think. Could I make keyclone do a funny little skit between 2 toons, "dance slave" "I dont wanna dance" "I said dance" */dance:"ahhh i cant stop....HELP" Just curious seems it would be fun to set up some crap like that.

I assume I could also set up a single binding to activate a cast sequence macro on her toon so that she could toss a heal then assist, cast 3 different instant casts then back to me for more heals, all by spamming one button. If someone could tell me some of the coolness I may be able to use it for I would be greatful. But I am a 85-90% mouse clicker, I have very little bound, a couple specific spells and thats all, but I could easily add some binds for things like mounting, ect. or add 1 or 2 buttons to spam for a cast sequence or a heal to happen from my wifes toon.

Lastly, an easy one. I have looked this up but cant figure out a reliable, legal (within TOS/EULA) way to make custom emotes, I have seen people with them, but most of what I have found have been add ons that were heavy or un realiable or something that required way to much effort. I figure there is a fairly simple way to do this and I am just not finding it.

So If I asked about something that is easily found via a google search just give me a link and I will figure it out. I do tend to fall into the "if it woulda been a snake it woulda bit me" crowd.

Thanks for any info and if anyone is on arygos(us) ally side and can show me some coolness they do with keyclone hit me up, yikez or failknight.

Can't offer any help on the video card question, sorry.

For your other two though,

First. While the law may see you and your wife as a single contractual entity Blizzard does not, so using her account is considered a violation of the TOS. So running both accounts with keyclone should be highly discouraged.

To my understanding you can't target swap within a cast sequence macro so you would need seperate macro's to heal character A and character B. Or a generic cast sequence with 2 keys assigned to target Character A and Character B.

Having a conversation between characters executed from a single key press would involve a pause, so the short answer is no. Alternatively you could set up a single action on each character bound to a single button and have an array of them that you could hit in sequence to simulate a conversation.

Finally, custom emotes should be doable with the /em tag. For example
/em is doing the chicken dance. = Stav is doing the chicken dance.

Hope someone else is able to help with your video card question.

As far as blizz is concerned both accounts are mine. in my name with my email addy. the battle net accounts have different email addys mostly because I couldn't figure out how to link more than 1 wow acct to the single battle.net acct so I have 2 battle.net accounts but both wow accounts were originally registered with all the same info to myself.

I knew there was an easy solution to custom emotes. so i could easily make a custome emote and put it in a macro and then keybind it. The converstion thing wouldnt be hard I suppose I could simply make like a 3 button process to simulate it. and it seems i could make a 2 button process to heal and dps from the 2nd toon. the only question I have left is could assist be in a cast sequence after a couple of heals were cast on a party member?

Just an FYI, all you have to do is click Merge WoW account to get more than one in there. I asked them the same question. They did say it is capped at 8 WoW accounts per battle.net account however. I am unsure if there is a way to merge battle.net accounts however. I asked that as well and have not gotten a response as of yet.

Might also be worth while to note that when you merge multiple wow accounts into a single battle net account you have to explicitly state that you are the sole owner and player of both accounts.

As far as easy following, and a multitude of one client clicks this in an open window, the other clicks the same.
IE, Flight Paths, Quest selection/rewards, Escorts... follow on a click, or strobe the follow command...

Check out the Jamba addon, in the macro/addon section.
Jafula's addon rocks.

Keyclone, or the other options are very good for multiboxing.
Anytime you want to click a keybind on one account and have a keybind also clicked on the other account, this program rocks.
You can have the druid assist you, and cast a semi intelligent heal, say on Numpad Key 1 - Rejuvenation; 2 - Regrowth; 3 - Lifebloom.

/assist Your Toon's Name
/cast [help] Rejuvenation; [help, target=targettarget] Rejuvenation; [target=player (or Your Toon Name)] Rejuvenation

Make that into a macro and keybind it to numpad 1.

Now when you're on your current toon (assuming Keyclone or a software broadcasting option), you can press 3.
Her toon will assist you, and if your target is friendly heal, if not heal the target of your target (which is likely you or her) etc.

It definitely makes healing a lot easier on the fly.

Assuming your main dps key is on 1, you could give her a macro on 1.
Depending on whether you would like her to cast very actively, or just a little bit and not be casting when she might need heals...

/castsequence reset=target/combat ,Moonfire, Insect Swarm,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The first comma has her do nothing on your first keypress, so all the aggro is yours.
Moonfire is hit on the second keypress. Insect Swarm on the third.
All the other comma's are nothing is done when the key is pressed.
The macro resets when it runs out of commands or nulls (comma's).
It also resets on the conditions target = change of target or combat = combat ends.
You could use reset=mod:alt or reset=5.
In the case of a number, it resets that many seconds after the key has not been pressed at all.
So you could go 1 -wait 4 seconds- 1 -wait 2 seconds- 1 -mashing it six times in succession- 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 -pause 5+ seconds and it resets- 1. Etc.

You can have mounts on the same keybind.
When I press Shift F10, all my toons mount.
My pally actually goes...

/use Charger (or whatever the current mount is)
/cast [mounted] !Crusader Aura

The ! tells the macro to turn the spell on, but to not turn it off if its already on.
The [mounted] conditional says execute the command if mounted but not otherwise.

I personally could not box without Keyclone or an alternative program.
But it depends on how much you'd like your slave/secondary to do.

I'd say go with a different video card. Your system is decent for what you're doing (Dual boxing).

Lucky for you, ATI has some rather inexpensive cards.
