Hi there

Im settling into my first Mb pairing of a shammy/warrior combo. Normally i play the warrior and have the shammy just as a healer when needed. My question is is there any way I can get the shammy to heal from say 10 yards away? when I charge a mob the shammy runs from my point of charge to where the warrior is standing meaning no heals in them few seconds + its a 2 tauren combo so 2 huge asses is to look at is to much.

Thanks in advance

you just break follow before you charge. so take a step backward on your slave or something. i have wasd on do-not-pass and just hit down on my arrow keys before combat then hit follow again if need be.

yep just have a button to move the guy to break the follow, so that he will not charge, but this might make him out of range or annoying to reset the follow after each kill, so u might just want to not charge

Welcome to the forums.

Very similar to what the others say, i just press the arrow key down to break follow. Easy, or just assign a key that will break follow, dont be afraid to go into key binding and play around with different keys to you find someything that works for you.

Most healing spells have a 40 yard range, so you should be able to break follow and happily heal away (unless your warrior gets feared I guess), I'd try to keep your shaman fairly close though as you might run the risk of tagging in extra adds with it and it will be easier to make sure you're in line of sight with your warrior if you can quickly see where your shaman is (I know I have more trouble keeping track of two toons locations if they are further apart).

I like to use a semi-intelligent healing macro:

#show Healing Wave
/assist Warriorsname
/cast [help] Healing Wave; [help, target=targettarget] Healing Wave; [target=warriorname] Healing Wave

You can use whatever assist method works for you.
Alternatively #showtooltip Healing Wave.... will have the game tooltip on mouseover.
Use the red question mark (top left), as the icon when making the macro.

So now we have Healing Wave.
It will heal the warriors target if that target is friendly.
In the event that the target is not friendly, it will try to heal the target of the unfriendly target.
In the event that both the target and its target are unfriendly, it defaults to healing the warrior.

If you're grouped with say a rogue and a paladin for a group quest which you cannot two-box down...
This heal will land on the paladin if he's got threat...

Set up Lesser Healing Wave and Chain Heal the same way.
If you go Resto, then Riptide can go this way too.

On the shaman account, enable a feature in interface options called "Click to Move".
Be sure to keybind (escape, keybinds) the "Interact with Target".

If your warrior charges in, and the shammy is out of heal range, click your useless heal spell, to acquire the warriors target.
Now click interact with target, to have the shammy automatically run towards the mob.
When in heal range, backspace will break the movement, and your heal spells are no longer useless.
