Hi there :)

---------------------------------------------
Things to know:
-Dual-Foldering ( =P )
-New to this kind of playing
- pc specs:
2* 8800GT in SLI ( not very much set up for 1 wow, wouldn't know how to, my guess is nvidia control panel and select some wow, but how renaming the proces =P )
3.250Ghz dual core processor
22'' widescreen
g15 keyboard
weird mouse
eurm.. hyper z600 ( spelling? ;x ) cooler that isnt working very awesomely =p
Feel free to ask more

------------------------------------------------------

Well I've been in the multi( dual ) box - scéne for about 48 houres now and have read 95% of every sticky there was on this forum and at google, Tough I still have some questions.

- I recently downloaded addons like Jamba, multiboxv2 etc. Which one is the most comfortable in your opinion? And why? :) And Do i need to install them in both wow maps or just of the main one?
- Is a macro on the key ( for example: G ) to follow my main the only option? I've tried it with double w,a,s,d, but with the least of lagg they'll walk their own ways every now and then, which isn't very handy :) Just wanted to know if there are more ways.. Or is it just a matter of getting used to?
- My alt is 20 ( trial acc.. still need to upgrade it ( RaF after 20\o/ ) and my main is 25 ( on al'akir atleast, got to much lvl 70+ single boxed on other servers ), would it be smart to just start in end barrens and see where i'm landing? or just boost the lvl 20 till lvl 25 in sfk with my 70 dk on al'akir.. ?
- Any usefull tips?
- < More questions to come, i'll just bump this topic if something comes to my head, early in the morning, things up there don't work awesomely 100% =P >

Kind regards,

Simolokid

Hi!

I'm newbie here too, so I might not be the best guy to help you. I used Jamba, and it did the job I needed it to do. I liked it and I'd like to thank Jafula for it. :) Didn't even test other addons since this one did everything I needed.

I did movement really simple. Only key that was "passed through" to another client was "W" - "qeasd" keys were totally ignored. Slave just made /follow main every time I pushed W. Basically slave was a trailer and main was a truck pulling it around. I noticed that sometimes I needed to turn both toons which was pretty clumsy with only follow so I used arrow keys to move both toons forward/back and turn them. Might not be the smartest solution, but worked for me.

That's exactly what I'm doing right now, tough, I'm having problems trusting the /follow while walking in a city, near a thousand of obstacles he could get stuck in =/ that's mostly the reason really :)

Thanks so far - Going to try Jamba =P

Jamba needs to be installed on both clients.
Add the main and slave to both Jamba's party member list.
Then configure everything on the main like you want it to be, and push everyscreen to the slave. (push to characters)
There's tons of info how to configure Jamba in the Jamba thread.

You'll learn how to get going without breaking the follow eventually.
I can run through SW or whatever city now with the pala's crusader aura (20% extra speed) without loosing toons. When I started I lost them at every loose rock in the pavement.
Just takes some time to get used to it.
Have fun!

Why use g15 keyboard, when it can get u banned?

Just using a G15 will not get you banned. There are things you can do with the keyboard that will get you banned. As long as you are not doing those things you are fine. Do not go programming any type of delays and you will be fine. Alot of the multiboxing software on this site can get you banned if you use it in the wrong way as well.

Edit: As long as you use it within the terms of service you are good to go. Even the WoW mouse can get you banned if you start programming in delays in it's native software. So really it all comes down to how you use it.

If blizz felt like it they would and could ban you for just logging in, check your TOS.. EVERYTHING and anything is bannable.

Well, ive been working on my dual-skills =P

Follow almost never goes wrong, ecxept voor unexpected dazes on the alt, also my /assist macros on every ability isnt working 100% yet thinking of removing every assist and then just making 1 assist button for the begin of combat.

On my alt im gonna make 2 extra bars with pure spells w/o any macro in them, just incase ;)

mentioned the g15 because it mightve been usefull, havent found a use for my 6 buttons tough =P ( using 1 mode, more of em gets me confuzzled =[ )

For now thats it ;0

Yes technically Blizzard could ban you for anything but they are not just gonna start throwing bans around like it was candy. As a business they won't just go alienating their customers indiscriminately for no apparent reason. They are pretty good about giving you warnings anyway before they permaban you.

Sorry it was directed to cola, being worried about bans over a keyboard is silly.

no worries. And what you said is correct. It's just a game. No need to look over your shoulder unless you know you are doing something you need to look over your shoulder for. For those folks let them sweat it. The rest of us will enjoy the game for what it is.

welcome to the forums!..
First of all, you can not pull of the everyone walking with wasd, you have to have the alts follow your main!
